GBWe absolutely loved this house and the little town of Oda. It was hard to leave it! So many good things about this place: really good kitchen, spacious bedrooms, an automatic onsen bath, a garden and a lovely host who readily agreed to meet us and later invited us to his place of work in the town. There's plenty to do in the area too... Old townhouses in Uchiko, plus great museums and the wonderful paper factory there. Plus we took a day trip to Ozu and did the river gorge walk plus, after some difficulty, found the local waterfall. All in all a lovely and peaceful stay. You soon get used to the toilet being a little further away than normal and in cold weather the aircons are very efficient heaters.
Could have done with a small kitchen knife for cutting up fruit etc, an iron and a printed manual on how to use the appliances, though AI is good at decoding kanji.
