From the moment we arrived at Harvest Moon Villa in Desa Bulan, Ubud, we knew we were in for a special experience. Tucked away in the lush rice fields, this villa provided comfort, tranquility, and luxury – exactly what we were looking for. Location: The location is simply breathtaking. We woke up to the sounds of birds every morning; and if we were sleeping in the Bale, the gentle rustle of the breeze through the trees. The place was secluded enough to feel like a peaceful retreat, but still just a short drive away from Ubud’s center – the monkey forest, Ubud palace, art markets, numerous waterfalls. Villa & Facilities: The villa itself is stunning. The design is modern and elegant, with touches of traditional Balinese decor. Spacious and immaculately clean, the villa features a private pool, cozy living spaces, and a fully equipped kitchen. The large windows let in natural light, and the views from every corner of the property were simply magical. We truly enjoyed the outdoor spaces embedded within the villa. The bed was super comfortable, and we enjoyed the outdoor bathroom experience—so unique! Service: The service at Harvest Moon Villa was exceptional. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, going out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. From preparing a delicious breakfast every morning to recommending local attractions, their hospitality really made the stay even more special. One of the staff even taught our little girl how to fly a kite in the rice fields. Yudi, the manager, was extremely resourceful to our every need - our kids had some fairly unique requests of him (lol) and he went out of his way to grant them every wish. Nyuman, the most humble and caring person you’ll ever meet, was incredibly helpful driving us around to various sightseeing spots. Extras: We also took advantage of the private massage offered at the villa, which was a perfect way to unwind in the evening.

We had an amazing stay at Harvest Moon in Desa Bulan, Ubud. The villa is absolutely picturesque, surrounded by rice fields with a patio and balcony that make you feel part of nature. The design has a lovely Balinese touch — bamboo furniture, native décor, and an overall cozy, serene vibe. The bathroom was one of our favorite parts, with a skylight that fills the space with natural light and an open-air bathtub that felt like pure luxury. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The outdoor bale and the swimming pool overlooking the rice fields were perfect spots to relax, and the common pool area was just as inviting. Service was outstanding — staff came in every morning to cook breakfast (included!). They not only served steaming pancakes and omlette paired with fresh-cut fruits. The freshly brewed coffee elevated our mood. The manager was always available, which made us feel cared for without losing privacy.

Everything was perfect, no complaints

We booked this villa as we needed four separate bedrooms for six people, two of which needed a private space. The villa actually has only two bedrooms, the rest is one daybed by the pool (completely open and with a cheap mosquito net) and a tiny room above with a very small sofa and thin which the owner tries to sell as a bed. Both these accomodation require walking outside to reach the bathroom — you can imagine that during heavy rains, which have happenend in several nights. After contacting the property manager (not a local, not on site, never seen her), the reaction was rude and they offered to use the sofabed in the kitchen or to move out and get a partial refund, We couldn't so easily move to another location so we declined. Two of our friends had to move out and we had to use the sofabed, you can imagine how pleasant and appropriate it was for a party of 6 adults. The manager also threatened to file a complaint about two broken glasses (which we had immediately reported to the staff, asking to please put them on the bill) and an alleged cigarette burn for which we never received any proof. The listing is misleading. The property has only two bedrooms (see other reviews) and can only fit four people and some children. Be aware.

Bad experience with no water available in units. We had old parents and kids in unit who could nit take shower or use any restrooms and nothing else was available around. Would not recommend.

The view from the pool to the rice fields is amazing. Villa was beautiful. Staff prepare breakfast on-site. Quiet location.

The bedrooms set up is not that good for families bigger than 4 people. There is two proper bedrooms, the others are one day-time outdoor bed (you can sleep in here just if you are very outdoorsy) and one studio with a futon. Just the main bedroom has aircon. A bit faraway from restaurants. Manager is not on-site, we didn’t see him one single time. Maintenance could be better.

The breakfast was wonderful. The whole team of people who keep the properties running are so very lovely and incredibly helpful! The house itself was stunning, the bathrooms were gorgeous and the outdoor area was so peaceful and beautiful. We were welcomed with a lovely cold and fresh coconut water. The property manager, Yudi, was really helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. The property recommends a local driver, Nyoman, and we would 100% recommend asking him if he's available to help you get around. Nyoman is the loveliest man quite possibly in the whole world! We were able to book a massage with a spa in Ubud town and they came and set up the beds by the pool for us - which was just magical! The kitchen is stocked with tea, coffee, milk and also lots of fresh fruit. There is a water machine so you're not having to stock up on bottles of water from the shops which was an absolute Godsend! Because of the location, the villa was really cool. Even on the hottest days. There are plenty of towels provided and they're all nice and soft and fluffy.

The welcome book could be updated as some of the things in there we enquired about but were told that they were only done by the previous management and not done anymore. When you ask for no cleaners to come in on a certain day, they shouldn't come in at all. We asked for no cleaners on one of the days but came back in the evening to see that they'd been in and moved some stuff around.
