Kahurangi Cottage Twizel

We loved how peaceful the cottage felt. It was far enough away from town to feel disconnected, but close enough to be practical. Moses and Jenny have done a great job at setting up the garden to be private while being incredibly pretty!

The Kitchenette was great! However, the main tap had a bit of a splash back hazard. Great overall though.

The stay was amazing, the hosts were lovely, and overall the house, info packets and complimentary food was incredibly well thought out and caring. We absolutely would love to stay there again. The fact its in a dark sky park is great for stargazing and the cottage was incredibly cute

Wow! This was one of the most incredible vacation rentals in which we have ever stayed!! The separate cottage is absolutely beautiful with incredible views of the surrounding mountains and beautiful landscaping of trees/bushes/flowers, and in a good location to get to restaurants/activities in either Twizel or Tekapo and to go see/hike at Mt. Cook National Park. Moses and Jenny, the hosts, left a folder with info about the cottage, as well as restaurant recommendations and things to see/do in the area, including a Lord of the Rings filming sight right across the street--how cool is that? The cottage was extremely clean and they had turned on the air conditioner ahead of time. There are so many extra little details that make this an extraordinary vacation rental--bath salts for the outdoor soaking tub (awesome for observing the stars at night), bath robes, bath shoes to go to/from the soaking tub, plastic glasses to use in either the bathroom or when using the soaking tub, a continental breakfast consisting of coffee/tea/hot chocolate, toast with jam/butter, yogurt, cereal, fresh fruit, fresh milk and orange juice. They also left us snacks such as popcorn, chips, a ginger beer and soda and chocolate chip cookies! What a treat! The bed was super comfy and had an electric heating pad (which we did not use since it was summer), quality sheets and a wonderful quilt (made me think of my Mom quilting with my aunts). The view from the bed in the morning was amazing--especially if you get a nice sunrise. The shower is wonderful as it is large and has both a rain shower head and a regular shower head--pure luxury. The host came by to welcome us when we checked in and was available if we needed any info about the area or the cottage, but gave us plenty of privacy. We would highly recommend the Kahurangi Cottage if you are going to be in the Twizel area! You will not be disappointed! We wish that we could have stayed longer.
