Die nettesten Mitarbeiter die wir in ganz Sri Lanka erleben durften. Das Frühstück war frisch und reichlich, auf Wünsche wurde super eingegangen. Der Garten ist wunderschön und lädt zum verweilen ein. Die Zimmer sind super ausgestatten mit warmen Decken (es kann kalt werden in der Nacht!), einer Heizung und der besten und wärmsten Dusche die man sich vorstellen kann, auch war das Zimmer super sauber. Wirklich mega empfehlenswert!

Gorgeous property, the photos don’t do it justice! Everything is really well maintained, the garden is beautiful, there is a lovely cafe that does excellent food and coffee where they also run a great cookery class, and the room was absolutely lovely - very spacious, comfortable beds and the best shower we’ve used in Sri Lanka. The staff are wonderful, helping us organise our transport and plan our days in Nuwara Eliya (including sorting our transport to Horton Plains for the World’s End hike), and they’re even posting some items that we left behind to us. Brilliant couple of nights here, strongly recommend.

Our overall feeling about this hotel is a bit mixed. On the one hand, the location is excellent, very close to the main attractions, and the staff were very friendly. The hotel itself is beautiful, nicely decorated, and the food was good in both quality and quantity. They also offer lunch and dinner options at very reasonable prices, which is convenient if you don’t feel like going out around the town.

The only aspect that could be improved was our room. Although it was a bit smaller than we expected based on the photos, the main issue was that it had a slight smell of humidity and the bed wasn’t very comfortable. I personally have back issues and usually need a firmer mattress, but this one was quite soft.

Hot water- yes. Water pressure -excellent. Beds & pillows- comfortable and firm. But the real beauty of Suriya is the people who work there and the warm community they have created. Folks come in as customers and leave as friends. Suriya does not promote the use of plastics. All water comes in refillable glass bottles, and the restaurant food is locally sourced from small farms. In order to cut down on food waste they do request hotel guests to pre-order their next meal which is very easy to do. We ate all of our meals there since the food is that good. There is an Ayurvedic Coffee shop attached to the hotel which is quite popular. Foreign travelers were arriving everyday for coffee, pancakes, and pastries. My husband enjoyed a slice of their pumpkin cake with Tahini and I loved their cinnamon roll. Those delights and coffee were sublime. Meals may be eaten indoors, under the porte cochère, or under the large umbrellas in the flower garden. I could continue this review about the goodness of Suriya, but really, just go ahead and book your reservation now.
