Casa Awänímä - Ecological Wellness Sanctuary

Absolutely gorgeous property with incredible views. The sauna was a lovely addition and the sunsets were incredible. Really delicious homemade breakfast each day for additional cost and a shared kitchen with free eggs if you choose to make your own. Kenzie was so kind and made us a ceremonial cacao for free on Christmas morning - you must try!

It was quite disorganised from the get go - our sauna appointment was forgotten and we had to wait after finding the manager. Sunday there is no breakfast as staff are off but we weren’t told this until we turned up for breakfast and saw a note at the kitchen. When we wanted to check out there was no one around. It’s worth noting that the balconies and showers are shared with two other rooms on the same floor which was completely fine but not clearly listed.

Casa Awänímä is a peaceful haven and was just the break I needed in my trip. As soon as I stepped through the gates I felt welcomed and relaxed. The owner really makes you feel at home through giving you a full tour of the property and farm, the herbs and teaching you about their medicinal properties. Breakfast was so delicious and nutritious that we decided to stay for lunch too.

There are very limited dinner options in the area. No dinner is offered on site and when we tried to find food at around 7pm the only place was a small food vendor who only offered a vegetarian option of tacos with salad. I think there is a cafe which closes at 6pm but we weren't really informed of the lack of local dinner options when we check in so I was left quite hungry.
