It was sometimes hard to call for staff at the front desk.

Excellent hotel,, courteous staff

Each staff member was so lovely every time I walked into the hotel! The rooms were immaculately clean, and I loved how comfy the bed was. The location was so peaceful and almost in a residential part of Kyoto – only a 10 min walk from a station. There was an elevator which made suitcase movement easy – and there was new towels everyday as well which was a lovely touch.

There was an unusual smell every time I entered my room. The bathroom was spotless but it almost smelt like a sewer smell? Possibly from the drain in the shower or shower floor area? I would just open the window a crack and pop the aircon on and it would go away so it wasn't a huge deal :)

Location: Great. located in small, quiet alley. near tube and bus stops, near main. Close to wonderful cafe (Here), small, cute restaurants or mini mart and small shrine. In walking distance to castle or imperial palace. Staff: great, friendly, helpful. English: no problem Room: single bedroom, enough space, Japan standard size for a room, clean, quiet.

Minor inconvenience: no wash machine in the building, but cleaning services on main road available.
