Location was excellent, only a minutes from the old town street once we figured out to just go on the big road and not the stairs. We had 6 people plus luggage so we had to take a 10 passenger taxi and it was hard for them to drop us off and pick us up next to the Airbnb. We spoke no Chinese so it was a little hard communicating with the tripool guys. So confirm with the taxi guy on where he can pick you up. The place is very cute. It fit all 6 of us very good. I especially liked the washer/dryer. Host was very helpful. We lost our water bottle and she was so kind to try to send it to us. We tried to walk from the airbnb to Teapot Mountain hike. It was a super long walk, next time we will uber to the Teapot Mountain. Loved this town, the gift shops were so cute and the desserts are excellent. Definitely a must visit and stay!

民宿實體跟照片一樣漂亮，裡面供應的餐具、毛巾充足，甚至還提供了桌遊。民宿離老街很近，走下去就在賴阿婆芋圓旁邊，十分方便。隔天供應的早餐豐盛到令人驚訝，我和我的家人在這裡度過了美好的時光。

Would like the breakfast time to be more flexible. We had to leave at 8am to head over to the airport, and their breakfast time is set at 9am. I asked and was told there isn’t a way to change the breakfast time to earlier. And we couldn’t really get any breakfast in jiufen that early in the morning because nothing was open.

This was my second stay at Yu, and it was just as memorable as the first. After a wonderful trip with friends, I returned this time with family and it did not disappoint. Perched on higher ground, Yu offers a stunning view of Ji Long Hill and the bay. It’s tucked away just enough to feel peaceful and quaint, yet still within walking distance of Jiufen’s bustling main street. The property is a beautifully restored old house, thoughtfully updated while retaining its original charm. Every detail feels intentional. The amenities go above and beyond: comfy beds, a bathtub with a hot shower and great water pressure, quality toiletries, a washer-dryer, Netflix, a Marshall Bluetooth speaker, and more. The breakfast is delicious and a lovely touch to start the day. A small note: the interior has a more open-concept layout, so it might not offer the full privacy of a typical hotel. However, this wasn’t a problem for us - it actually added to the homey feel. Some activities I’d recommend: • Hike up Ji Long Hill (about 15 minutes to the trailhead; 45 minutes to the top). Try to catch the sunrise or sunset, and bring a jacket—it can get windy. • Watch Spirited Away together—it feels extra magical in this setting. • Enjoy breakfast or a cold beer (from 7-11) in the outdoor space. • Explore other nearby spots recommended by the host, she has great taste! Overall, Yu is a special place where the host’s care and attention to detail shine through. It’s thoughtfully designed to give guests a unique and memorable experience. Highly recommended.
