Up and out of the noisy smogbowl below. Fantastic lighting and WiFi and interior decoration. Well priced food options Friendly communal vibe Good for a longer stay. Also, best bathroom of any place I have stayed in Nepal, including the apartment I rented for double the price.

If you want to be close to the noisy smogbowl, or if you want to avoid walking up the hill to get there and back, you might not like it.

It is a nice self contained apartment with fully equipped kitchen, fridge and water filter. It is very quiet, ideal if you want to stay in peace for a while. It is located not too far from Pokhara lake side that you can reach by bus or taxi/motorbyke in 10 minutes, or 40 min walk. From the main road, it is around 200 m uphill, which is good for your health but perhaps not for everybody.

Unique stone building, very clean living, like new linen and towel. Comfortable bed/mattress. Shared shower room, stone lined. Solar heated water was always at least warm, regardless of clouds. Bit of a walk, but I liked it. Very quiet and great sleeping. Can catch a bus at the bottom of the hill to Lakeside, if needed. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Can eat available tasty healthful meals at very reasonable price. Planned one night, stayed four and would've stayed longer but had plans.

Super self contained studio on a hill in Happy Village just outside Lakeside ran by a very friendly and helpful host family. The apartment has everything you need including a kitchen, desk, ensuite bathroom and it's own drinking water refill. There are a surprising number of restaurants and bars at the bottom of the hill with great views of the lake. You can ask to eat with other guests of the next door yoga retreat for Rs200. Mira, the hosts daughter, cooks great healthy food. They even gave me my first evening meal for free so I didn't have to go down the hill. Lakeside is about 45mins leisurely walk away. ATM in the next village about 25mins walk. All for less than US10 per night. Bargain.

It's on a hill. But that means you get the exercise, the views and more peace and quiet 🙂.

Nothing Some ppl may struggle about the luggage to bring up to the location because there is no proper path for suitcase with wheels - Off road or stone steps up. If the luggage is heavy or need assistance to carry, better to contact the host in advance.

The place is beautiful, with amazing views to the lake. Far enough from Pokhara to feel the peace and calm but near enough to even walk there if needed. Shyam and his family are amazing, plus they normally have retreats or yoga trainings going on, so its a lovely environment. In the apartment, you have your own little kitchen, very handy! I really recommend staying here, its very good. See you again next time I am in Pokhara!

I was looking for a place close to town but in the countryside for a short stay. Lakeside is too noisy, dogs barking all night. Himalayan Aama was what I needed. I was able to walk to the lake and hike up the hill, just be in nature and the village. The apartment is cosy wit ha good bathroom and good kitchen for 1 or 2 people. The family are helpful and have much local knowledge.
