Kimbas Bungalows Mancora

Our stay here was perfect, the bungalow and room were great, the grounds and plant life were beautiful (we had humming birds right outside our porch) and the facilities were great (pool, breakfast, massage etc). The staff were all really friendly and helpful. The location is really good, max five-ten minute walk to the beach and probably the closest to the main street of Mancora of all the luxury accommodation in the area.

he room (bungalow) I stayed in lacked air conditioning, but there was a fan to circulate the hot air, along with the significant amount of dust collected on all surfaces. Mancora is a dusty town, and I expected the dust and spider webs to be cleaned from the bed, furniture, wall decorations, and ceiling before guests arrived, especially since the rooms appeared to have been closed. I requested a cloth to clean the accumulated dust from these items and was provided one, but there was no offer for a staff member to assist with the cleaning, so I did it myself. The facility is within walking distance of the beach and the main street, which has several restaurants. However, access to these locations is via a dirt path with poor lighting. Although it was claimed to be a safe area, I felt uncomfortable walking in the dark after sunset, especially with all type of motorists sharing the path and kicking up dust as they drove by right next to me. Hidden fees: 10% of the total Booking price, which was said to cover their Booking fees, plus an additional 5% if you pay with a credit card. The receptionist understood the frustration and gave me until my checkout date to make the payment with all the additional fees. Thank you.

I liked the atmosphere and the room and veranda.

Cold water in the shower. Nice and refreshing in the heat but I couldn' t wash my hair. Cold drinks weren' t included in the breakfast.

The location was good, easy to walk to beach and Main Street. Breakfast was decent. Front desk staff was very helpful.

Nowhere near what you would expect with this price range. The place is beautiful and clean, sure, but the service was really crappy. I sent several messages about my family member’s special diet and even though it was promised to take into account and replace the things she cannot eat with something else, this child was instead just left with less food for all of the 6 nights we stayed. Anyways the breakfast was very modest. There were 4 of us and when we asked for drinking water, we got 1 glass to share. Same attitude continued with everything else too. Simply no will to make the customers feel welcome or nourished in any way. The driver ordered to take my family to their flight was 30 minutes late and I had to push to get help with ordering a new one (it was 6 am). To compensate the missed breakfast my family was given water bottles and 3 packs of crackers, which do not fir the diet (celiac disease) for two out of three. And when I payed the bill, the women didn’t mention or consult me in any ways for the extra 5 % charge when paying with card, but just charged it! So practically stole close to 50 dollars from me. When I said this is not cool, the response was so arrogant and nothing was done to make the situation any better. The pool is super small, nothing like it looks like in the pictures. There are so many good options to stay in Mancora, I would never recommend this place or stay here again.
