The location in Patan was convenient.

After getting a booking confirmation including breakfast, the hostel messaged me that he couldn't provide breakfast because the amount for the room was too low. I said OK, I can pay for it or eat somewhere else. But the next day when I showed up at the hostel, the mgr said I booked a room with no bed or furniture, just 4 walls and the floor. Then he wanted me to pay 50% more for a dorm room with a bed. I showed him the booking confirmation which said "bed in a dorm" but he insisted I had to pay more. I asked why he didn't say that in the breakfast refusal msg he sent the day before, but he had no answer. I told him no and found a better place. Then he reported that I never showed up. Classic Bait and Switch!

I had a great time in Budget Backpackers Hostel. The rooms were very comfortable and the owners are amazing. They're very hospitilarious, very nice and welcoming and serviceful. The food is also great. I recommend you stay here. It's new place, that's why it doesn't have many reviews, but it's definitely well located as well and it's great place to stay and good value for the money.

The staff was really friendly and helpful, especially Garima. The beds are simple but comfy, with super soft blankets. It's the closest hostel to Patan Durbar Square that I could find on booking, about 10 min walking to get there. As the family just started the hostel, facilities are basic but newly renovated, so very clean and in good condition. They told me they have great plans to furnish and decorate the rooftop terrace to create a more cozy common area.
