Voodoo House

The location is pretty near to every beautiful places in San Juan Siquijor. It is right in front of the beach and people are nice.

I myself grew up in an island and if I can feel the true island vibe in this place.

As a first-time solo traveller, i highly recommend this place. the amount of people i met and the memories we made traveling around the island is due in part to the place we stayed in. the beachfront the moment i go outside the room is still stunning and i can no longer count just staying there either in the hammocks reading my book or in the bamboo chairs just enjoying a smoke, a beer, and talking to my roommates and sometimes to other dudes staying nearby who wanted to join in on the vibe. the moment i arrived i knew i did not regret booking here. less than 30 minutes in siquijor i was now sharing a beer with the owner, Michel, and his friends at the bar above. what a great first impression. i liked the facilities especially the bathroom and shower and though there are some power outages its not really the fault of the hostel. what i also love is that the place is situated in a lot of key food joints that everything there is walkable.

The door didn’t close properly so wasn’t officiant for the AC and light in the morning

The location was perfect as it was near most establishments, just a 6-7min drive to Tubod Sanctuary and Paliton Beach, got a beautiful beach up front, they have their own bar on the 2nd floor, it’s also a dive center and offers a healing/voodoo massage. Even with the bar upstairs, the place is quiet and you can still have a peaceful stay. Everyone was so nice, especially the owner. They also have a backup power and even a rechargeable fan which is very helpful considering that there’s usually a blackout on the island.

Water pressure for the shower was weaker than hoped for.

L’accès à la plage par la chambre, le service de plongée, la location de scooter, les hamacs sur la plage.

Posizione ottima e staff gentile. Camera molto silenziosa, vista sul mare. Ottimo posto per i tramonti!

Pulizia tremenda. Appena sono arrivata c’erano formiche e blatte morte a terra, pulite poi il giorno dopo ma che son tornate ne giorni a seguire. Dal soffitto del bagno cadeva acqua. A proposito d’acqua, la doccia e lo sarico ogni tot smettevano di funzionare, ma almeno c’era il catino per lavarsi (tuttavia, acqua mai cambiata). La cosa più snervante è il wifi che 9 volte su 10 non va. Impossibile lavorare al computer o cercare informazioni su internet, dal momento che la linea non prende, va bene se vuoi farti un’esperienza senza telefono. Capisco che siamo su un’isola e quindi è un po’ più limitante e bisogna adattarsi, ma il mio consiglio è di abbassare i prezzi, perché la stanza non vale i soldi che ho pagato.
