Lovely stay!

Roads to get there was not the best - key was not there for us on arrival.

The location is beautiful and peaceful except for some temporary construction work on the adjacent property, but we were out for most of the day which made it less bothersome. It was accordingly not a major issue at all. Our host Bertie was very helpful from our arrival until our departure. The wood fired oven was a huge bonus and we found it to be very efficient especially in cold weather. It is fairly small but the adapted container was otherwise cozy and comfortable and the bed of good quality. There were sufficient duvets. The hot tub was a plus with certain criticism (see below). Everything was very neat.

The absence of any curtains with a huge south facing stack door was somewhat off-putting (one way glass notwithstanding, such glass is completely ineffective at night). When the sun rises the room lights up. Those inclined to lie in may find this unacceptable. The outside shower in winter will be a challenge to some. There was no microwave as stated in the amenities but we fortunately had our own. The absence of comfortable seating indoors was a minus. The absence of even a small clothing cupboard would have been a plus. There is just open hanging space for clothes. The hot tub is difficult to get in and out (some sort of step would have been a plus) and it is extremely uncomfortable to "feed" with wood (particularly in the absence of any purpose made gripping tool). The Kolkol, albeit of standard dimensions, is simply too deep in that application. It would have been nice of fresh water could be added at least every two days. Compared to other glamping or adapted container accommodation, this unit was a tad too expensive given the shortcomings. However, it will remain on our list of accommodations in the area. It will be keenly watched in terms of improvements.

Exceptional view. Great wood fired hot tub to relax in for hours. The outside shower is also an amazing experience. Although the host's house is right behind the cabin, it is completely private. Very comfortable bed from where you can also enjoy the view. The hosts are very friendly and keen to be of assistance.

There is currently construction taking place in the estate where the cabin is located in, which is very noisy from 8am to 5pm on weekdays. The road leading to the cabin goes through this construction. Outside of these times it is very quiet and peaceful, so it is just something to take note of. If you plan to galavant throughout the day it is no problem.

Exceptional views. Hot tub and outdoor shower is a great touch. Tranquil and peaceful. Tasteful decor. Intimate space.

The kitchen is not equipped for self catering i.e. no cooking utensils, limited crockery, no serving dishes/bowls, no cutting board, no corkscrew/bottle opener or kitchen knives. No dishcloths, old cleaning sponge, small amount of Sunlight liquid, no black bags or extra toilet paper. No freezer, meaning we could not keep ice or freeze anything. Because of this, we could not prepare our own meals with ease. Access at security was frustrating. There are still some teething issues, which are easy to overcome.
