Hosts are lovely people, very accommodating, had made a special effort to make our baby comfortable. The rooms are all across the downstairs of the property, so very accessible with children. The host stays at the property each day to attend his farm but also cleans the pool daily and tidies the grounds. Very clean, the oven/fridge freezer looked brand new. Excellent value for money.

Area is remote- we liked this, but does need to be planned for.

Our family had a wonderful 10 day stay at Villa Adelmo. The owner was very attentive but not intrusive, visiting the property every morning and providing assistance as and when we needed it. He gave us a delicious bottle of wine and also some free olive wood to take home for the barbecue. The amenities were excellent, with a large shower and bidet available in the main bathroom and a smaller bathroom/utility room just outside. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and a lovely bottle of olive oil. If you like the taste, you can buy some to take home from the owner (we bought seven!) We also got a bottle of red vine made by the owner <3 The property is quite remote, but there are some lovely local towns within a 30 minute drive to pick up local cheese and deli or drink a coffee. The nearest beach is about a 45 minute drive and recommended if you would like to try some local seafood. The property is also not too far from Pisa to take a day trip (1.5hrs). Overall, we were very happy with the stay and would recommend it wholeheartedly

The property is quite remote and we don't recommend going out for a walk as there are some aggressive local dogs who will bark and jump at anyone who comes near them. We were in the car luckily,

The house is situated in a beautiful environment with tranquility and amazing views. Owners did everything to help us be comfortable and are very friendly, from getting us Pizza on our arrival when the stores were closed, to helping plan trips and finding us the shop selling the right motor oil for our car. The house has recently been renovated and the living and sleeping rooms have have new walls, floors and switches and the kitchen received new appliances (same as the washing machine, we were the first to use it at all). The TV was better than we’ve ever seen in a holiday home. The owner was usually working the farm (makes amongst others a great red wine we got to try) and around to answer questions. The kids loved the place and especially the farmers dog and cats. The pearls of this area are in the small towns you don’t read about. Drive out to Suvereto, Castegneto Carducci (our favourite, the fountain square with view were amazing) and Massa Marrittima and you will be pleasantly surprised. Cleanliness was good and plenty of space around the house for the kids to play their games.

The trade-off for the great location is some extra travel time as the house is situated near Lustignano (also, breathtaking view of this small village from the villa) This could be partially averted if you plan smart (combine grocery shopping at Cecina or Pomerance with a day trip and do this before you drive into the area - the bigger stores are at 30 mins drive, a smaller one in Monterotondo is at 15 mins) but some of the popular tourist destinations (Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra) cross through the mountainous landscape and will require your full attention when driving the curvy hillside roads (you will run into beautiful villages you would not otherwise see though) English isn’t well spoken in this area so we felt a little handicapped at some times trying to communicate, but then again this adds to the experience of being on vacation abroad (google translate solves most your issues, but hardly makes for sparkly conversation. The store clerks, cafetaria owners and gas station staff we met are helpful and super friendly compared to what we experienced in the more populated areas and somewhat surprised to meet people who don’t speak italian - there are only a few tourist lodgings in this area which we considered a huge plus.
