Fort Pedlars

Perfect location. It located on the main street with good restaurant on ground floor. We do cycling with 3 mountain bikes, the men tried their best to take care of our bikes. Unexpected service. Can accommodate 6 persons and very spacious for 3 of us.

The toilet has no ventilation is the only bad point.

I see my next response ends up being a negetive. The reality is, the bathroom was good enough and once they install fly screen, will be even better. Keep in mind this is not 5 star accomodation, nor are you paying as such. So the reiew needs to match the star rating. Good for a couple of nights.

The owners tried, but he bathroom needs work. Really need better control of insects. Blocking windows and vents isn't good. Really need fly wire to help manage mosquitos. Also the door to the room from the stairs was prone to mosquito control.

The location was brilliant right in the middle of Pedlar street with everything at your doorstep.

Not much maybe a little raw as far as facilities but I really liked it.

The worst problem is the property has mould and damp penetrating the walls not good for ones health. The property was not clean cigarette butts were left in an ashtray and other bits of paper on benches. Lack of privacy as there is no curtain over the glass door. It is not self contained as shown in photos as there is a fridge but no cooktop or microwave. The kitchen cupboards are just shells and have rubbish in them.

This place is in an excellent location in the middle of the Fort. It's a value for money place, so don't expect anything very fancy, just clean and functional. The balcony was a nice touch. The place is run by the guys at the shop on the ground floor, who are extremely helpful. We were able to do an early check in and leave our bags at the shop for a few hours after checkout. There's no breakfast or meals provided, which works out well as there are literally hundreds of food joints in the Fort. The location is key here as you have everything you need in a 10-minute walk radius. I'd recommend booking for two days, so you have ample time to explore the fort.

The lighting could definitely be improved or redone, and maybe the furniture could be modernized. The locks work but weren't very easy to use.

Fabulous location with balcony overlooking the Main Street. Great comfortable beds.

Bathroom has a very low ceiling and was very warm.

We had an amazing stay at Fort Pedlars in the family suite. The room was incredibly spacious, with a fantastic balcony offering vibrant views of Galle Fort. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of the fort! The hospitality was exceptional; the host went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Highly recommend for a comfortable and memorable stay!
