Villa Mamina

My partner and I have been travelling South East Asia for a couple of months. One of my friends was meeting with us in Uluwatu so we decided to treat ourselves to a villa. The villa itself was beautiful and the location was very peaceful but still easy to get to busier areas.

Unfortunately, we experienced multiple issues during our stay, which was especially disappointing given that we spent a large portion of our budget on this villa. Within hours of arriving, I noticed the water supply was unreliable. The showers and taps would run for a few minutes, then cut out entirely. This happened repeatedly over two days, meaning we were never able to get properly clean. The toilets would not flush, handwashing was impossible, and hygiene quickly became a serious concern. As a result, we couldn’t comfortably use the pool or sit in the sun, as we couldn’t rinse off pool water or sunscreen. To his credit, the manager, Gus, responded quickly and came to the villa several times, arranging for a plumber/engineer to attend. However, the problem persisted. The water tanks, located behind my room, made loud noises throughout the night—keeping me awake until around 4 a.m.—and I was then woken again by nearby construction between 7–8 a.m. While I understand the construction noise wasn’t under the villa owner’s control, a warning would have been appreciated. I documented all these issues with evidence and timestamps. The host initially promised a refund, so I delayed contacting Booking.com in good faith. Unfortunately, after payment was released, my messages were ignored. It feels like the host took advantage of my patience and trust. What was meant to be the highlight of our trip turned out to be the worst experience. As a group of students who had been staying in hostels, this villa was meant to be a special treat. Instead, it was a major disappointment. I would strongly discourage anyone from trusting this host.

Loved this place! It was peaceful but also close to everywhere driving on our bikes. So easy to communicate with the hosts and staff and they really were amazing!

Fantastische villa, goed schoon en goede service. Tijdens onze voedselvergiftiging (ergens anders opgelopen) werd er goed voor ons gezorgd, erg prettig.

The villa was amazing for the price point. Comfortable space, comfortable bed, good AC, and an exceptional team of staff who was extremely attentive and resourceful. They let us check out late and were very responsive when minor hiccups came up. Only thing I wish is it were closer to the beach but there are some good cafes that were close and it ended up working out okay!

La villa mamina est vraiment un lieu exceptionnel. À peine arrivé, on s’y sent comme à la maison (mais en plus grand 😅). L’endroit est très calme car ne donne pas sur la route principale. Nous avons reçu un très bon accueil, personnel très souriant. Le ménage est disponible tous les jours effectivement, mais le dimanche étant un « day off » en Indonésie, nous avons fait le choix de ne pas utiliser ce service. Tout le monde a droit à un peu de repos. Il y à quelques commerces locaux aux alentours mais sinon, l’hôte propose une location de scooter. Et dans tous les cas, via l’application Grab, nous n’avons eu aucun soucis pour se déplacer. Les chambres sont spacieuses, et la salle de bain incroyable, avec de l’eau chaude!! Peut être qu’il serai juste bien d’ajouter quelques produits de base pour la cuisine (sel, poivre, sucre, café et thé). Nous reviendrons avec certitude lors d’un prochain séjour sur Bali.

La pulizia accurata effettuata da Made, un ragazzo dolcissimo. Gli spazi esterni sono super confortevoli e invogliano a rimanere fuori a godere della piscina e del patio dove si trova la cucina. Abbiamo trascorso qui 9 notti ed eravamo due coppie, ognuna ha potuto godere dei propri spazi, ampi e accoglienti. Posizione comoda per raggiungere tutte le spiagge di uluwatu.
