The Overlook

- The view - Alan was really Nice

On the positive side, The view is beautiful and Alan is very friendly, warm and welcoming! I came here to connect with nature as advertised, I am actually really sad I connected much more with the Reggaeton DJ and the live cover band from the bar next door until 3:30am… You can hear the scooters and dogs as well (I guess we can consider dogs as nature ;) Not to mention you will be waken up by the local poultry at 4am… and the sun at 6… Could not sleep at all… even with earplugs… (I must say I am a sensitive sleeper… but still) Fell twice down the slippery stairs going to the toilet in the middle of the night… The bed was too small, (I’m a quiet big guy…) I wished I could turn off the house lights to sleep, so I had to unscrew 2 light bulbs and got electrocuted (ok that last one is not true… but I did unscrew the lightbulbs… and you laughed… we need to keep smiling right? ;) I can lough about it because I had a 12 hour sleep in another place ;) Booked 2 nights, left after the first one… Came here to rest and relax, left frustrated and tired… lucky other hotels were available for the next night… If you are here to relax, peace and quiet, and connection with nature, walk away… If you want to sleep 2 hours and you have doubtful tastes in music… you found your home!

The view over the bay

The bathroom was not really comfortable to use No locks on the door / no privacy ! The place is located 500 meters away from an after hour club - which blast loud music until 2am in the morning ! You cannot get a good sleep there …

I absolutely loved my stay at The Overlook. Just outside of town with panoramic views. Alan was super helpful and the place had such a nice atmosphere.

The view is really the best thing! Alan is a great person and we rent the scooter from him. There is no breakfast option but there is a kitchen so you can cook something by yourself. The toilet open view is the best thing ever! The rooms were nice and clean. There is a fan there and you can also open the windows. I managed to do yoga as finally there is very good wifi, I went upstairs at the main building, there is a little balcony and it is perfect. The main building has 3 rooms in total so not too crowded. We highly recommend coming here if you stay just a few days!

Great view over Port Barton and the bay! Alan was super nice and helpful during the whole stay!

Not a problem for us but it is a short climb up to the Overlook. Not possible for a tricycle to drive all the way to the top.

Cool vibe, GREAT staff, very nice comon area, great view. Really unique place, not anther hotel.

LOUD music from moon bar until 3AM on one of the nights. And until 1230 in two. Really loud unfortunately. Very simple room, 15 min walk from town, with a bike it's ok.

Great view & lovely staff

Not the property’s fault but the music coming from Moon bar was a bit loud even though it was quite far away. Might not be an issue in the future!
