Ryokan Kutsuroginoya Yuu

The staff was truly amazing. Exceedingly polite and helpful. They even drove to pick us up from a nearby bus station free of charge. The reservable private onsen was lovely, and included some romantic candle lighting and small garden. The dinner was exceptional, and a dining experience more than a meal. You can cook your own meat to your preference on the gas grill on the table.

It’s an hour and a half bus ride from the nearest train station. Once you arrive, there is not much to do besides relax inside.

The staff were really friendly and welcoming. Their traditional breakfast and dinner course were awesome, too.

Great location on the edge of the historical district. Lots of space in the room. Accurate photographs. Laundry was was easy to use.

The onsen (both pivate and public) was amazing. Hot but not too hot, just the right temperature. The staff also upgraded my room free of charge and it was very comfortable. The dinner and breakfeast was also amazing as well, probably the best japanese traditional food I had dring my entire trip.

While it was not difficult to get to from Takayama bus station, it was not very conveniant when travelling around okuhida onsen, since there were only buses every two hours from the other bus stops in the area.
