Villa Cantik

Property has the wow factor! Beautiful design with great communal spaces and a pretty cool under floor pool. Close to supermarket and posh bakery right next door. My son was not very well when we arrived at the property and the cleaners who had finished upstairs very kindly allowed us in early so he could go back to bed. We were extremely grateful for this. (The cleaners were actually lovely every time we saw them). Our host Gede was a really nice guy and very responsive to our requests.

It is a bit outside Ubud so you’ll need transport- we just used the Grab app when needed so no huge issue.

Villa Cantik is the most amazing villa with an amazing host. Gede was so welcoming and did everything to ensure that we had the best trip! The villa itself is very spacious and luxurious, with lots of amenities such as a ping pong table and pool! I would definitely recommend staying in Villa Cantik and will recommend it to anyone I know who is visiting Bali.

Nice, large spaces. Pool and table tennis available, and large gardens. Koi fish in the pond were a winner with my son, and perfectly located beside Rusters, which is a great place for coffee, cocktails and bread/pastries. Was there most days during our stay for breakfast coffee. Pool going under the house was fun, shade prevented sunburns and the glass flooring was very fun. Could watch my son swimming and enjoy the blue of the water and sun reflections through the house. Gede did his best to ensure we had a good time, and the housekeeping staff were very kind.

•MICE! The first 3 nights I had very little sleep as mice as I was woken up 6-7 times with MICE ON MY HEAD. During the trip we found 6-7 mice, and it was unsanitary, unsafe and unpleasant. •Pool was nice, but the maintenance crew need to do tests of PH level before adding more chemicals. The water had a very metal, unpleasant taste. • Housekeeping didn’t take out the rubbish once during our 9 night stay, even though it was full. • No aircon downstairs, which got really hot. During some of the hot hours, everyone was sitting in their rooms as it was cooler, which kind of defeated the point of having big shared living space. • Needs more netting around the table tennis table. Ball fell off the balcony area countless times. Easy fix.

Me and my 2 friends spent 9 nights in this villa. And it was amazing for many reasons. The under-floor pool, own yard, big tv (we had some great late night movie sessions), table tennis, fish pound, cafe nearby. The area around the villa is quiet, beds are very comfortable so our sleep was great and calm. The furniture was also nice, and we liked the modern design of the villa consisting of cargo containers. There were so little amount of insects inside the house even though it seems like you live inside a forest. But the best part of the villa was our guide Gede who helpled us so much throughout our trip. It’s hard to describe how much we appreciate him. He helped us with stuff not only regarding villa issues but also he helped us with organizing trips around Bali, and even with booking our next villa, which is not even his responsibility. TL;DR: we strictly recommend this villa, it really is worth it!

It takes a little longer to get to Ubud on foot (40 minutes), by motorcycle it takes about 15 minutes and it is Ok.

The ambiance of the property is very nice. The green plants, swimming pool, lovely interior decor, clean space made it more attractive. We stayed there with the family of 5. It was spacious for us. The facility and services provided by the caretaker Gede was appreciated.
