Casa Pitanga

Casa Pitanga was a great villa. Quiet location in a clean and quiet neighbourhood. It was a little hard to locate the villa initially as the villa's are not numbered in numerical order. However if you put it on google maps you should be directed to the exact spot. We hired a car which was a good shout as we had small children (5,7 and 8 years), but you could walk to the closest beach and supermarket within 30 mins. The villa itself was spacious and clean. We were supplied the code for the gate prior to arrival and the key was in the keysafe adjacent to the front door. We asked for pool heating and the hot tub also. Pool heating was 35 euros a day and the hot tub 25 euros a day. We stayed for 5 days, but minimum heating time is 7 days. We hadn't been aware of this prior to the request, but didn't mind as felt it was worth it since the weather was going to be variable during our stay. Things someone else may find helpful: There was an iron, a kettle and coffee machine. Dishwasher with tablets, but also a sponge for washing up and washing up liquid. Some condiments (like oil, salt and some herbs) were also available. These had likely left by other guests, but was welcome as it was nice not have to purchase these for such a short stay. We ate out but also cooked. We also used 'Just eat' to deliver a meal on one night. House keeping came daily around 11-12 but we didn't use them everyday. There's recycling points close by to dispose of rubbish if needed. The estate agents were very attentive and kept in touch throughout. All in all a great stay and would stay again. The kids loved it and so did we!

Minor issues were addressed in a timely manner, so nothing to report that would impact anyone else's stay.

This was a wonderful villa in a lovely location. A quiet residence yet only 15 minute walk to Vale Centianes beach and c30 minute into Carvoeiro. The villa is spacious and very clean and the swimming pool and hot tub (which we had heated) were fantastic. Service from host, pool maintenance team and houshold cleaner was very good throughout our extended stay. As we stayed during February it was very nice to be able to have the log burner available for cosy nights. Also good to have the charcoal bbq available for grilling fresh local fish. Carvoeiro is quite central Algarve so felt very easy to get to local towns such as Lagoa, Portimao and Silves.

Be aware that if you dont have Apple TV then you can only access German TV channels. Would be good to have access to Portuguese TV channels at least. The villa was excellent value for money during February however if I was paying peak summer prices then I may have expected a more upgraded interior finish (it can feel a little too white and austere - e.g. sheets over white sofas and mismatched furniture in a couple of rooms)) and provisions such as towels to be better quality. That said I would definitely have no hestitation in recommending or staying in this villa again.

The villa was spotless on arrival, it was well appointed and the kitchen was very well equipped. We had the offer on cleaning and new towels twice during our week stay - we only needed it once but it was nice to get the option! We visited in September and it was a very quiet and peaceful location. The villa has plenty of space with different seating areas and 2 different options for sitting in the shade to eat - which was fabulous! The main bedroom and en-suite are huge and the jacuzzi bath is a touch of luxury!

Just a minor point but the information pack didn't really give us much information on equipment in the villa, in particular to work the electric gate; don't forgot to take the fob with you as we couldn't work out how to open the gate without it, despite the agent saying there was something near the gate - we couldn't locate it! Be aware that it is hilly and takes about 30 mins to walk down into the town centre. Only 5 mins in a car though!

Perfect for a family of four. Fabulous main bedroom. Great 2nd and 3rd bedrooms for older teenagers. Pool is a great size and you can swim short lengths. Well equipped. We wanted to be out of the centre and this was perfect for us being only a 5 min drive to Carvoeiro and 5-15 mins from most beaches.
