Residence Largo Castello

Elegantly decorated large one bedroom apartment and a second bedroom with sliding doors and a sofa bed if required for a child. Very comfortable beds. Step-free lift access. Full kitchen with some basics provided and a grocery store nearby. Very centrally located with a great view of the Estense Castle. A twenty minute walk or 5 minute bus ride from the Ferrara train station. Andrea, the owner, was most helpful with recommendations on what to do in Ferrara. Highly recommend.

This was probably the best apartment we have ever stayed in. It was spacious and extremely well appointed and comfortable. The kitchen had all the equipment we could have wanted and there were essential (and some non-essential) supplies provided. The apartment is in a superb position in the centre of Ferrara, looking out on the castle. Andrea, who was was very welcoming and friendly, met us on arrival and communicated with us promptly in response to any questions and with recommendations.

Be careful when using the stairs leading to the apartment, or use the lift. Several of the stair rods are detached and so the carpet is loose. Andrea is aware of this but, unfortunately, it's not his responsibility but that of the building's management.

We have nothing but praise for the Largo Castello apartment and host Andrea! If you're looking for a comfortable place to land in Ferrara, this lovely spacious apartment, with an elevator and fantastic views of the Castello Estense which is across the street, is it! The apartment is exceedingly clean and comfortable and is just as it appears in the photos. Andrea and his wife Olga have thought of every detail to make this feel like home. The kitchen is modern and well-stocked with a coffee maker, pots, pans, dishes, and even a dishwasher. The bathroom is also modern and functions well: the shower has plenty of hot water, good water pressure, and doesn't leak; there's even a washing machine! The bedroom is spacious with a comfortable bed and good linens. The living room, dining room, and sitting area off the kitchen (which can be closed off to create a small room with a sofa bed) are furnished comfortably. And the WiFi is excellent, making this apartment a great choice if you need to work while on vacation. The building has a central atrium with a bar and restaurant, but it is not noisy at all -- the apartment was very quiet. Andrea met us to hand over the keys and help us get oriented; he had great recommendations for restaurants and was readily available if we had any questions; he clearly enjoys being a host and showing off his city! We love Ferrara -- so many good restaurants, many interesting museums, the Castello Estense, and easy access via train to other cities in the Emilia-Romagna region (our favorite part of Italy!). Grazie mille, Andrea, for providing such a beautiful apartment; we hope to return for an extended stay!

The hosts of the apartment are a truly lovely family. Speaking honestly from the perspective of someone who often stays in short-term rentals – I didn’t expect to be this lucky or to find such a high level of quality. To give you a sense of just how impressed I was, I’ll put it this way: I would love to live in this apartment permanently because: 1. The location is amazing — right in the heart of the city with a stunning view of the castle. 2. High ceilings and good windows — it’s peaceful and quiet overall. 3. The furniture is comfortable, and the kitchen is honestly one of the best I’ve ever seen. Everything is thought out to the smallest detail. 4. The bed linen, pillows, and duvets are excellent. I slept like a baby — it truly felt like home. 5. You’ll find everything you might need — from basic toiletries to unexpected little things like zip bags, different types of chargers, and various household items. 6. The hosts truly care about your comfort: there’s laundry detergent, dishwasher tablets, and basic cleaning supplies. 7. We were even welcomed with a starter breakfast set — a lovely and thoughtful touch. It was hard to leave — I honestly wanted to stay longer. We constantly had the feeling that we were staying at a relative’s home — someone who genuinely cares and prepared everything for our comfort. We will definitely be back!

What a glorious apartment, with many thoughtful details. The first thing you are struck by is the view of the castle, which we toasted with the complimentary Prosecco. However, more than that there was a well equipped kitchen, with essential ingredients for breakfast and some pasta. Andreas was attentive with information on events in Ferrara, and finally what a super city

For the Italians it was shoulder season so the heating was still on, rather than air con!

I had an absolutely wonderful experience staying at Residence Largo Castello. The space was exactly as described—clean, cozy, and beautifully decorated. The bed was very comfortable, and all the amenities were well thought out. The location was perfect with incredible views, with easy access to local attractions and great restaurants nearby. Andrea was super welcoming, providing great recommendations for things to do in the area and making sure I had everything I needed. Communication was quick and easy, and I felt right at home.

Stunning accommodation in a breathtaking part of Ferrara. This is truly a 5 star property, huge rooms, high ceilings, and a very well equipped kitchen, large dining area, several sofas and Netflix supported TV. The Internet is very fast in all the rooms. The flat is on the first floor of this historical building and there is a very convenient lift. 50 metres from the front door there is a supermarket. The owner, Andrea welcomed us with kindness and answered any questions we had about our 4 night stay. The house was spotlessly clean. We can't wait to return!
