Living Funchal Executive

Good location really convenient to everything in Funchal.

Due to the location you can get some ambient noise.

Centrally located, yet rather quiet at night thanks to the windows facing an inner courtyard. Plenty of restaurants nearby, as well as a shopping mall for groceries if needed. Room was spacious, modern (a bit worn furniture), clean and well equipped. We especially loved the comfortable bed. Easy self check-in process. Communication went smooth, the host was responsive and supportive whenever we needed assistance. Breakfast was delivered in a box. It was delicious and plentiful, although after a week it can become a bit repetitive :).

The private bathroom wasn't quite as private as one might expect: 1. There was no curtain/blind on the bathroom window, even though an identical window in the kitchen area had one. 2. The sliding bathroom door wouldn't close properly, leaving a gap wide enough to put your finger through (see attached photos). As a result, sounds and smells travelled freely into the living area. We reported the issue on the 2nd day of our stay and were told the maintenance team would be sent. Unfortunately nothing was done before we checked out on day 7. I also noticed in the previous reviews that this issue had already been reported at least 2 years ago, so this doesn't seem to be a new problem. This should really be addressed. The breakfast delivery times were inconsistent. We were given two delivery windows (8-9am and 9-10am), but our breakfast always arrived at the very end of the interval, on two occasions it was even delivered after (up to 30min late) and we had to ask the host to check on the status with the supplier. It wasn't a major issue, but we wanted to make the most of our days and this wasn't helping. On a few mornings the breakfast box was also missing items that were supposed to be included such as the orange juice, coffee or butter.

Location was perfect. Accessible to everything. Host Rita was also fantastic and was always accessible. Apartment was clean and equipped with all amenities required. Would highly recommend and would definitely go back.
