"I had the whole place to myself."

5.0

There was a great sense of the surreal. I cycled down over 1000m altitude from Alishan, and arrived after nightfall. The bicycle offered some protection from the dogs, but I still had trouble finding the place, and when I got there it was shrouded in darkness and there was an entry system I didn't know about. In the end I had to do some detective work to locate the owners to let me into the building.

The reception (lack of) and insistence that I pay in cash - which I was running out of.
