Socco Hostel

Pros: Love the facilities. Soufian was amazing. Friendly, and seems to love being there. Fatima was friendly too. The place is clean, and comfortable. The Rooftop views is just lovely. The breakfast on the rooftop is a nice taste of Tanger. Socco had everything needed for a complete stay. I even extended my stay. The location is great as it’s in the heart of the Medina. I loved it and the staff were warm and welcoming. I met some good people here.

The Cons: Had a hard time getting reception attention to ask a questions.. I was not feeling well one day, I stood by waiting for conversation in local language to end. After a long while, I did leave. It takes a moment to stop and say I will be right with you. Something I would ask if they are busy, and they would reply, Yes! Maybe it’s the language difference or cultural. I also asked for a towel once and the reply was “now?.” Yes, It’s why I was standing there. Some training is needed with customer service. THE BIG CON: One guest named Jordan who stays here often, so may run into him…seems to think this is his own personal home and is allowed to return. He woke up one guy for snoring in the middle of the night and yelled at another for turning on light. The next day, he threatened the guy with physical harm and made it uncomfortable. My major interaction with this person involved him leaving an UNLABELLED bag on the open counter without name/info after checkout. I assumed it was left to be shared. It's what I do as a traveler after check out. I mistook his UNLABELLED bag on the kitchen counter and helped myself. That little mix up created an unnecessary situation. The receptionist Fatima helped him to track it down via camera, instead of telling him that he needs to label his bag like the rules says. This helped to create a dangerous situation as he threatened me with physical harm. I dared him to. I asked for the police. Fatima laughed. No protocol for safety is in place. Change needed to maintain a traveler hostel mindset, respect & safety. OR this would have been a perfect TEN review. This dangerous person is allowed to return here often I am told. Not good for business. Sorry I had to share, as change is needed. I would stay here again in a moment if the safety is taken care and improved training. Thanks for over all AMAZING stay.

Super emplacement. L'équipement des chambres, les astuces, la gentillesse du personnel, le confort. J'ai testé beaucoup de hostels et Socco Hostel est super à tous les niveaux.

Very comfortable beds, friendly receptionist, excellent location. Fantastic breakfast with excellent views.

Moderno, limpio, tranquilo, terraza. Habitaciones compartidas cómodas y limpias, con cortina en cada cama, luz privada…confortable
