USThe hosts were lovely and very welcoming. As we were there during a festival and many restaurants were closed that particular day, we ended up at their home for lunch. However, there are restaurants within walking distance in any direction. The apartment is right in the center of the old town, walking distance to everything and all the main squares, churches, etc. Although the streets are narrow (charming) medieval alleyways, the apartment has all modern fixtures with a lovely kitchen and bath (looked brand new). Kitchen is fully equipped. Coffee and a snack were welcome gifts to us. Both bedrooms (and all beds) were comfortable (one with 2 twin, the other with king/queen - can't recall which). The apartment is on the 2nd floor, so you must walk up one flight. Regarding transportation: From the train station, we took a city bus to the old town for 4 euro each person each way that dropped us just outside the "Old Town" walls and the main gate (about 35-40 mins). This was very easy to do (train station is small - bus just shows up and takes everyone who hasn't arranged a ride). Through the main gate is the main square in the "Old Town". There is a free shuttle that runs from this square through the old town during the day. Communication with hosts was seamless. We texted back and forth using Whatsapp, which was very helpful since we missed our inbound train and our arrival time changed. Hosts live about a block away, close enough to help but not sharing a wall.
