Winjum Hostel Stegastein

Good location with nice view. Dorm with a wall between 4 and 4 beds, every bed had its own curtains, light and socket. Fresh towel every day. The dorm was cleaned every day.

Poorly equipped kitchen, just a few plates and cups. Half the pans not suitable for induction cooking. No toaster, no oven. No pen/labels to label food. No salt/pepper, spices or oil. Terrace with nice view but very cheap and not comfortable chairs/ banks. Eating area also not comfortable/ welcoming…very sad for rainy days. The places could be nice and cosy with some couches inside and comfortable furniture inside and outside.

Clean room, clean house

We didn’t realize despite booking a family room, the bathrooms were shared. There was a kitchen but no cooking essentials like oil or oven, everything was super barebones. There was no soap or shampoo provided in the bathrooms. We had to strip our own bedsheets and put towels in a community bin before check out. The hostel is located on an uphill so not great if you have to walk with luggage. They also charge an arm and a leg for a 2-min shuttle to city center if you don’t want to walk。

Il faut savoir que les toilettes et douches ne sont pas dans le chalet … la nuit moins pratique . Prix du shuttle dispendieux .

因為是老建築，所以如果入住人數較多大家作息不同很難睡覺

Der Blick und die Lage waren toll!

Die Gemeinschaftsküche war klein und von den Töpfen und Pfannen lößte sich die Beschichtung - hier wollte man nicht gerne kochen. Außerdem gab es nicht ausreichend Geschirr (6 Gläser und 2 Müslischalen...). Die Schwämme und Trockentücher wurden während unseres Aufenthaltes nicht gewechselt.

Amazing view.

It is a 10 min walk up the hill to the property. There is a shuttle bus from Aurland to Flam BUT it can be expensive. The local bus only runs a couple of times a day through Skyss, but it is difficult to find this out as Norway’s Best has the monopoly on everything in Flam. The kitchen was not well equipped. We got by but there was no tea towels, pots were missing handles, there was only 5 cups for about 12 rooms and they were all odd cups. and the floor was always wet. I think there are minimal standards that should be met when people and paying for accommodation and they were not met, The sign in the property says no nose between 8am and 10pm but not everyone has common sense so we still got woken by people walking up and down the hallway talking.

Le shuttle est vraiment pratique mais vraiment dispendieux le prix pourrait diminuer avec le nombre de personnes

Restaurant seems dont have real Norwegian food. Pingpong favility are too old, even broke !
