Hitgeheim Garden Cottages

It met all of our needs and was located to the Addo Elephant National Park which was awesome

Absolutely nothing

I can 100% reccomend Hitgeheim to anyone. We had a wonderful time. It was super clean, with the most attentive staff. We had everything we needed, well thought through.

La nourriture n’était pas incroyable donc je recommande de prendre ses propres produits et cuisiner dans la cuisine de la chambre car très belle vue. Le dinner au restaurant est un menu impose et le petit déjeuner est aussi un supplément donc préparez vous à l’avance

The lodge is truly in the middle of nowhere, which felt special. A very nice surprise was that they cleaned our car without us even asking. Our room had a small but private pool shared only with one neighboring unit, which was a great feature. The two safaris we booked (Addo and a private lodge) were very enjoyable, and Johan, our guide on the second one, was fantastic - he shared so much knowledge and really made the experience memorable.

Communication was difficult and responses were slow, which led us to take the wrong route when arriving. The room felt a bit dated, and considering the price, there are better value options. We had dinner at the restaurant once, but the food was only average, so we decided to self-cater afterwards. Overall, a stay with strong highlights but also areas for improvement.
