The wet floors at 8.30 in the morning. The darkness, lack of lighting. Smokers in the building and early morning coughing of said smokers

The location was handy; in amongst the historic centre and close to a supermarket. The beds were large and comfortable, and the wifi worked really well.

The front door needs to be fixed - it isn’t an easy one to close, and needs to be slammed to get it to shut, sometimes multiple times. Being in the room next to it was unbelievably noisy and disruptive. It literally shook the entire room and the bunks. There seemed to be absolutely no enforcement of the rules - there was a party in the hostels common area with a large group of people that went on very loudly until well after 3:00am. During this time they were coming and going, slamming the door, screaming etc. The staff are not the most visible, so engaging them to address the issues is difficult. There were also a large number of mosquitos, both in the dorm room (and inside the bunks), as well as in the common spaces. This made the common space unpleasant. There’s also four cats, which seem to use the garden that rings the common space as their toilet, which means it smells like cat poo as well. Not the most pleasant place to sit. But I suppose you don’t notice when you’re getting drunk.
