A beautiful piece of architecture.

The room looked very nice, and was very spaceous. The bed was not so comfortable. We did not use the big living room a lot, because the sofa and the chair were very uncomfortable. Location would have been great, very central. But at 5am and 5.30am the extremely loud prayer over the speaker near us was a total turnoff

I loved the interior pool, it looks just stunning. The whole interior was proper swahili archotecture that made my stay so authentic and luxurios at same. They also organised for me the boat transfer which was very convenient.

Only thing was the water temperature in the shower, even after 10minutes there wasn’t any hot water but this is usual issue in east africa, one must get used to it I guess.

The customer service from the host was superb; she truly understands exactly what a customer needs. Excellent service!

Boat arrangement.

i came acoss Swahili Dreams Appartements randomly while looking for a place to stay in lamu. The pictures were so beautiful i thought it was a scam, upon my arrival on the 9th (january 2025), i was fully expecting something a run down plqce and not at all how it was reflected in the pictures, to my surprise, it was everything and more. the place was so beautiful, the rooms very spacious, there were fans but no need to use them because the place was so cool. there weren't any mosquitoes. the staff was so charming and welcoming, special shout to Peter, Faith and Patrick. The owners (Zeinab and Tarik) were also very good with communication and being present for any questions. the location was very safe and should i go back to lamu, i would definitely go there :)

no hot water where i was, which was a pity

The property is located in the middle of Lamu town which made it easier to explore the historical coastal town. We enjoyed the indoor swimming pool that is private to guests only. The room was spacious and well ventilated too.

The front office staff were not reachable to assist with simple concerns. The kitchen lacked some basic necessities, salt/sugar, etc. The property didn't have hot water in the bathroom with no shampoo either.

Lamu is beautiful and the apartment is great the staff is great and the location is good. The security was top notch.
