Very spacious and clean

Spacious apartment and beautiful indoor pool area

Absolutely beautiful property, stunning views of the Indian Ocean. Super clean and almost enchanting. I’d say it’s an architectural triumph. Martin, Tariq and the staff made it even more worthwhile. They were very kind and professional. Ensured that I had everything I needed for my stay.

Improve on beds.

The apartment was airy and spacious - loved having a balcony with a view. Bed was comfortable with a good mosquito net and ceiling fan. Enjoyed a swim in the pool to cool off. Staff were helpful and kind. The house interior generally is very beautiful.

Only minor points: The baby cot on the stair landing would be better stored elsewhere. The fridge was not cold when I arrived - it took several hours for it to cool. The kitchen needs a sharp knife - and a coffee press would be a bonus.

Swahili Dreams Apartments is nestled in a residential neighbourhood within Lamu Old Town. The property is a 10 minute walk to the nearest shops and restaurants, and about a 5 minute walk to the main street or pier. The rooms are well furnished, and clean, with loads of space in the living area. The kitchen is well set up, however I would recommend only carrying breakfast items, and eating out for the rest of your stay. The host Zeinab is was incredibly hospitable, and will help you organise any trips or excursions to Shela, Manda and anywhere else you'd like to go.
