Mosquito/insect repellent is necessary. Fans should also be changed as they're rusty and noisy.

The decor is amazing and the apartment was very big. The location is great if you want to be immersed in the culture and town. Close to many restaurants and the Lamu Jet as well making it easy to access a mode of transport. The host also arranged some activities for me including a boat on arrival made my solo travel very convenient.

Whilst it is not their fault its very close to a religious centre so every morning at 4am and 5 am there are prayers made out loud. If you are a light sleeper it will wake you up. But unfortunately its not their fault. Apart from that i absolutely loved it. Great value for money.
