Lakeside wilderness cabin

The cabin was wonderful, meeting our expectations. Beautiful remote tranquil setting, It is a perfect place to see wildlife. With Reindeer grazing in front of our window. The host was very friendly and helpful.

So Beautiful Cabin. The owners were very friendly. Plenty of water, the bathroom is great. The cabin is very well equipped.

We enjoyed the hospitality of the hostess the most. She was very friendly and provided us with all support and information required and asked for. She was available and also very knowledgeable. We also enjoyed the tranquility and natural environment of the location and the cosiness of the cabin a lot. After a week of trekking and traveling we really enjoyed the peace and quiet of the cabin and its surroundings.

Beforehand we did not anticipate not having a bathroom with running hot water. However, as a whole the natural atmosphere and rustic feel of the cabin added to the experience of being back to nature and all this within the comforting shelter of a real log cabin made of real logs!

Handcrafted from logs sourced directly from the surrounding forest immediately makes you feel at home. The host was very welcoming and dedicated to bio living, which added a wonderful touch to our stay. It was inspiring to see that great care was taken to maintain an eco-friendly environment. The lake outside the lodge was crystal clear and ideal for swimming and fishing. We caught plenty of pike and perch. The natural beauty surrounding the lodge is breathtaking, and we were thrilled to spot reindeers roaming freely. The location of the cabin is perfect for those looking to immerse themselves in nature and enjoy some tranquillity. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a peaceful retreat in a truly wild setting.

It was an amazing place to stay for adults and children. Hosts were great and helpful, she waited for our arrival at 2am. Cabin was warm as well. Great view, peace and quiet. Northen lights experienced from the window. Did have to go anywhere to see it. Overall 11/10 stay. Will definitely recommend and come back here one day.

Everything was magnificent

A Winter Wonderland Retreat in Jokkmokk's cabin. Last night's stay at the enchanting cabin in Jokkmokk, Sweden, surpassed all my expectations and left me in awe of Lapland's winter beauty. Nestled on the edge of a serene lake and embraced by dense forests, the location of the cabin offered breathtaking views that seemed straight out of a fairy tale. The hut's position on a gentle slope provided an unparalleled vantage point from its balcony, where the surrounding landscape, blanketed in a thick layer of snow, sparkled under the winter sky. The charm of the cabin was further accentuated by its construction. Built by a carpenter, the hut exudes a cozy, handmade feel that instantly makes you feel at ease. Its wooden walls and rustic interior create a warm, inviting atmosphere that's perfect for a winter escape. Equipped with a kitchen, bedroom, fireplace, and dining area, the hut offers all the necessities for a comfortable stay. Although it lacks modern conveniences like a shower and running water, this was clearly communicated in the accommodation details, and honestly, it only added to the authentic experience. The separate dry toilet building is a small price to pay for such an idyllic setting. What truly sets this place apart is the impeccable maintenance and cleanliness. Everything, from the functioning amenities to the fresh-smelling linen, was in perfect order, ensuring a hassle-free stay. However, the highlight of our stay was the hospitality shown by our host, Elke. Going above and beyond, Elke provided us with fresh water, delicious breakfasts, and dinners, and even made sure our fireplace was lit for a cozy evening. Her attentiveness and dedication to ensuring we had everything we needed made our stay not just comfortable, but truly memorable. In summary, our night in the cabin was nothing short of fantastic.

Nice location, beutiful, very quiet and peaceful and Jokkmokk is easy to reach. The hosts were lovely, kind and so helpful. The house was spacious, though for five adults it would be too crowded. It didn't take long to heat the place as there was plenty of firewood but we had to go looking for where this was kept. A guide describing such necessities would be great. Heating solely by wood burning stove may sound romantic but in winter (October - May) has to be kept going continually. The cabin was light and well ventilated.

The outside bio-toilet is not directly next to the house and not lit at night, a torch would be helpful for those who can't use their phone. Internet reception was poor, even though we were told it was 4G (no wifi) and as there were no TV, radio, or any of the books or games mnetioned in the description there was very little entertainment. There was a drawer full of DVDs as mentioned, but no player. Fortunately we have good experience of running a wood burning stove, without this you would be extremely cold as it needs to be kept going continually. There was no eletric heater to keep us warm while we heated the place. These things made it a bit poor in value for money but we did get the impression that this place was new however, and hope that these things we mention are just teething problems for the owners. We wish them well.
