Zanziblue Boutique Villas

Beautiful small boutique hotel located on a quiet part of the beach. The room we had was spacious with a very comfortable bed and modern bathroom and looked out towards the pool and sea. The food is excellent. The best we have had on our trip with a wide ranging and interesting menu. Breakfast was very good particularly the fruit on offer. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the spa offers excellent and affordable massages. The beach is quiet but be aware you can only swim in it at high tide but you do have the pool.I absolutely loved this hotel and hope I can return one day.

Food is not very good. But not bad either it was average. Staff was nice and Friendly However only thing i am not happy about was they didn't do my Laundry professionally. The Night After they did the laundry it rained. Apparently Ny laundry we're drenched in the rain and they came back very wet and smelly. I was checking out the next morning. So Had to take my bag full of smelly damp clothes with me to fly to the next country.

We had a wonderful stay at Zanziblue with exquisite service, a great room, and an excellent restaurant. A warm thank you to all the dedicated young staff who went out of their way to give us an unforgettable experience. We recommend the massage and the tours organised by the hotel.

It was an amazing stay! My wife and I enjoyed it a lot. The staff is super nice and welcoming. We have even received a free romantic dinner, because we were on our honeymoon. The food is good and the prices are reasonable. The breakfast buffet was very good as well. The location is very scenic and directly at the beach. In case of low tide, one can also use the pool that has a very nice temperature. One can book a variety of activities via the hotel like Spice Farm Tour, Stone Town Tour, Cooking Class, Safari Blue etc.

Although it is not really a downside for us, one should keep in mind that the hotel is located approximately 1h from Stone Town by car. Transfers can be arranged by the hotel (40USD). We have booked the Safari Blue via the Hotel. Although, we enjoyed the trip a lot, we believe that 260USD for two persons is a high price for the activity. However, I want to emphasize, that the Hotel uses an external company for that activity and all other activities are much more affordable. Thus, we give 10 points 😊

We really enjoyed the privacy and calm atmosphere of the hotel — it’s a small property, so it never felt crowded or noisy. The staff were absolutely amazing from the moment we arrived; they were attentive, kind, and always ready to help with anything we needed. The food at the hotel was good — not the typical dishes you might expect by name, but each plate had the chef’s own creative touch. The lobster was excellent, both in size and flavor, and reasonably priced. The cocktails were fine, and the overall dining experience was pleasant. Our room was simple but clean, and we were lucky to have a view of the ocean and the sunrise. The manicure experience was surprisingly relaxing — not perfect in execution, but it felt like an hour-long mini spa treatment. Overall, the setting was peaceful and perfect for unwinding.

The value for money felt slightly on the higher end considering how simple the rooms were. The beach, while close by, wasn’t the typical turquoise paradise — the tides and algae made it less appealing for swimming, although we knew this. There isn’t much around the hotel, so dining options are limited to the on-site restaurant. We also experienced quite a bit of wind during our stay in early October, though that’s likely seasonal.
