The location was very convenient, close to the Zocalo.

Checking in was a nightmare. I was unable to complete the on-line check-in prior to arrival because it would not accept the photo of my passport despite numerous attempts, but because the property description says that there is a 24-hour front desk, I advised the property that I would check-in when I arrived and they said it would be OK. The taxi dripped us off at the corner because there was extensive construction happening on the street. There is no sign on the door and we had a little difficulty finding the street number, partly because we were expecting a place with a visible front desk. There was only a locked door. I attempted to call the host and got no answer. They did respond to my text within a few tense minutes. They told me that I had to check-in online, that no one could come and help. I tried on-line check in again to no avail. Then they changed the requirement for a passport photo and I was able to complete the check-in and get the code for the door. The apartment was spacious and comfortable but more run-down than it appeared in the photos. One morning a cockroach came into the apartment.

The location was very central and close to everything we needed. The neighborhood felt safe and the people were friendly. There were plenty of restaurants nearby, with lots of good food, and the museums and shops were excellent. There were several clothes lines on the roof and things dried very quickly in the dry heat of the city; this was very convenient as we did laundry every day (we travel very light).

First and foremost, the apartment smells bad; really bad. It hits you every time you walk in and it never went away. Either the cleaning person didn't smell it (likely gotten so used to it) or wasn't able to do anything about it. The apartment is dark, with very little natural light, not enough lights, and only two small windows for fresh air. There's no cross-ventilation so the apartment tended to be stuffy. There are some skylights but even at midday the apartment tended to be dark. There's no hot water at any of the sinks; this meant I had to shave in the shower, and with the water crisis in downtown Oaxaca this wasn't an efficient use of water. The apartment has a low wall running across the divide between the living room and most of the rest of the apartment; it's not a big deal but it is annoying to have to constantly step over it.

Nos quedamos en el departamento #2. El piso es agradable y tiene todo lo necesario. Las habitaciones son espaciosas y tal cual se indica en las imágenes. La ubicación es bastante céntrica, lo que tiene su lado positivo y negativo (mucho ruido de coches).

El anfitrión pudo habernos avisado que en ése momento había remodelaciones en nuestra calle (justo abajo de nuestra ventana), el ruido de las máquinas (perforadoras de piso) fue infernal, empezaban a las 7-8am y duraban todo el día, hasta las 6pm., lo que hacía imposible tomar una siesta y descanso durante el día. Bastante estresante. Considero que son detalles que deben avisar para que cada uno.a tome la decisión de rentar o no.

Die Lage ist unschlagbar und trotz zentraler Lage sehr ruhig und super für 3-4 Personen geeignet. Zudem hat es eine kleine Dachterrasse die geöffnet ist. Wir durften früher einchecken und unser Gepäck bei einer sehr netten Putzfrau deponieren

A little hard to open the street door. instructions could be more clear. Not a big deeal after we figured it out.

Easy to find and easy to enter the main door. Comfortable beds, and showers always had hot water. The apartment is one floor up, which gave a nice view to the street below and was a bit quieter.

The code to the apartment door was an old code, which was stressful after a 12 hour day of travel. You think you are doing something wrong and you keep trying different things and you’re tired so you start to lose it. Then you have to wait for them to get back to you, but they were quick to reply with the newly changed code.
