Ancestral Hostel Barranco

Really nice dorm rooms and lovely staff in a great area!

Hubieron días que se rompieron las cañerias y no había agua caliente en las duchas, eso puede pasar, simplemente no te avisan y te enteras luego que estás desnudo para entrar a bañarte jeje

Nice hostel in a great spot in Barranco! I loved exploring the neighborhood and shops around. -Happy that dorm beds had privacy curtains. Rooms also had lots of locker storage. -The room had an AC unit, which is rare to find in some hostels here.

-The shower location isn't that private. It's kinda an outhouse setup, which would be fine if random people weren't constantly walking along the walkway in front of the doors. There's an attached cafe, so customers would walk up the walkway sometimes. I didn't mind it, but I can see some people being uncomfortable with it. -The AC units need to be cleaned/ serviced more. The room smelled kinda of musty when it was on.

Beautiful building, nicely decorated, lovely view from the rooftop bar/restaurant

I underestimated how noisy it would be - the mixed shared dorm is above the kitchen which woke me up at 6am! I also got locked out the room in the night because the door jams if it’s shut properly. Can’t really chill on the roof terrance unless you purchase food/drink at restaurant
