Normal staff was friendly and the property and room are looking nice. Breakfast is good.

We booked this accommodation for one week. The following points are based on our direct experience and on written confirmation from Booking.com. Unfortunately, the stay involved significant issues and we ultimately had to check out three days earlier and find alternative accommodation. During a very large part of our stay, there was no electricity, which meant that: power outlets were not usable. we were in complete darkness from around 7 PM until midnight. the air conditioning and fan did not work no hot water was available. We are aware that power outages occurred in the region at that time and it is also okay for us to handle this in a certain degree. However, all other accommodations we stayed at had generators. In this case, there was zero pro active communication, and no basic alternatives (such as a torch) were provided. As a result, it was not possible for us to work or use the accommodation as intended. I want to pronounce hat the general staff was friendly. We contacted the owner several times and initially received no response. In a later phone call, she stated that she had already cancelled the booking. Booking.com later confirmed in writing that no cancellation or response had been received from her. A subsequent phone call ended abruptly after the owner reacted very loudly and aggressively, ended the call and hung up. Booking.com later offered a 20% goodwill refund, explaining that any higher refund would require the owner’s consent, which was not provided as she did not respond further. Based on our experience, we recommend that future guests clarify in advance how power outages are handled and how communication is managed, especially regarding basic utilities.

Toen we aankwamen moesten we gaan zitten van het vriendelijke personeel. Na 10 minuten kwam de eigenaresse en vroeg of we een goed verblijf hadden gehad. We gaven aan dat we net aan zijn gekomen. Ze deed heel denigrerend naar het personeel dat ons moest helpen. We kwamen vroeg aan en mochten wel al meteen de kamer in. Dat was een pluspunt. Na een rondleiding door de kamer kwamen we erachter dat we niet eens een sleutel hadden gekregen. Dit werd meteen opgelost. De airco betaalde we meteen maar werkte niet. Dit hebben we de dag erna aangegeven en toen is er een monteur geweest toen we niet op de kamer waren. Daarna zijn we ‘s middags op de kamer geweest en leek hij het te doen. Uiteindelijk was dit niet zo en werden we wakker met een nat kussen en ijs op ons hoofd wat vanuit de airco naar beneden viel. Daarnaast was er niet gepoetst. Onze kamer lag vol met zand. Deels door ons zelf maar veel lag er al toen we aankwamen. Dit hebben we gevraagd en toen kwamen ze meteen poetsen. Dit is niet vanzelfsprekend en doen ze niet als je er niet om vraagt. Nadat ze klaar waren deed ik met mijn hand over de vloer en was mijn hand alsnog helemaal zwart… Toen we ‘s avonds terug kwamen lag de stroom eruit. We hadden dit doorgegeven en gevraagd of er een aggregaat is en dat we geen airco hebben nu. Eigenaresse belt op en zegt dat het Afrika is en dat we dan beter naar Noorwegen konden gaan. Ze zegt dat het op booking.Com staat dat ze geen aggregaat heeft. Dit nagekeken maar staat nergens beschreven. Eigenaresse is niet netjes naar haar personeel en ook niet proffesioneel naar gasten. We hadden voor 3 nachten geboekt maar na twee nachten besloten dat we ergens anders heen gaan. Dit is een vreselijke plek met geen nette eigenaar. Het personeel valt niks van te zeggen en doet hun best. Daarnaast is de ligging ook niet goed. Ligt midden in een wijk met donkere steegjes zonder verlichting. Kortom geen aanrader.

Meg og min frue hadde booket en tur til Tanzania, skulle være der noen dager, fly over til Zanzibar og bo her, før vi skulle tilbake til Tanzania. Da det ble politiske problemer i Tanzania valgte utenriksdepartementet og fraråde reisen til Tanzania som gjorde at også turen vår til Zanzibar ble kansellert. Her viste BamBam Bungalows ingen forståelse angående refusjon eller var behjelpelige på noen måte.
