Mellow Yellow Ahangama

We had a really great time at mellow yellow. The owners are incredibly hospitable and kind probably one of the nicest we met so far in Sri Lanka. There was a super tasty and freshly prepared breakfast every day at our requested time (something different every day). It was clean at all times. You could buy water directly on site and you could also rent scooters. Laundry could also be washed. We can highly recommend this accommodation.

There is nothing to complain about. With air conditioning the place would be a 12 out of 10 but for the price you can not expect AC. The ceiling fan also did a good job.

Breakfast was amazing, owners were very nice and helpful. The room and bathroom were very clean and it smelled nice.

My room was facing the busy street (and sunny side) so it was quite noisy and very hot (there was only a fan).

I booked the triple room (ie very big bed) for myself. Not the cheapest option in the area (with no A/C) for a solo traveller but for the price it is possibly the nicest. The room is lovely, very new and clean. Fantastic bed, lovely bathroom. All very new and nice. The son of the family is really sweet and serves a really good and varied breakfast with a smile. Very close to the surf and a nice little beach. The property feels a bit out the way of everything, however I discovered there's a fun hotel a very short walk away where there's some life in the evening should you want it!

No unexpected negatives except be aware there's just 2 rooms for booking so if you're solo and want company, it's unlikely to happen! Standard issue for the area is noise from the road being so close.

Great property and really lovely hosts that were very accommodating. The room was a good size and shared bathroom was kept tidy and clean at all times.

The room didn’t have AC and was uncomfortable at times. Location wasn’t amazing and tuk tuk’s aren’t easy to get from there however, pick me works

Nice place, super clean, super lovely host.

We had a lovely stay at the mellow yellow! The room is really nice and super clean! If you cross the street there are multiple nice quiet bays to swim and even a great snorkel and surf spot! There are a few good restaurants in the neighborhood and a bus stop in front. It just outside the busy places, but it’s nice because there is no mass toerisme yet. Especially if you have your own transport, this place is highly recommended! Oh and don’t forget the great breakfast, they even had a menu where you could choose from the night before and they make it for you the next morning. The host where so kind and friendly!

It was a bit close to a busy road, but with earplugs not a problem!
