Lom Apartment

Awesome apartment. Very recommended

Very spacious; much larger than photos convey. Had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Convenient access to downtown area and walking paths. Lovely and well thought out.

Gas station and traffic noise right outside the kitchen/living room windows. No microwave oven. No shower caddy or shelf to place soap or shampoo.

The apartment was surprisingly quiet for its location on a main road and essentially in the center of town. We couldn't hear any noise from the main road or the nearby gas station. We heard very few sounds from upstairs. (We did get some noise from the laneway behind the house a couple of times.) There are good shades for privacy. We were allowed to park under the carport, which would have been especially welcome if it had been rainy. The shower was good (steady temperature and good pressure, not slippery, well-enclosed). The pillows on the bed were good (not too thick). There is a washing machine and drying rack. Though my printout listed a 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. checkin time, one is not restricted to 6 p.m. because access is contactless. (You are sent the information you need on the day of checkin.)

There was no tea towel (dish towel). We only used one of their cups, so it seemed silly to run the dishwasher just for that. We washed the cup by hand and dried it with paper towels. (We travel with our own cutlery, reusable plastic bowls, and reusable plastic cups). There was no bathmat and no face cloths, a common occurrence in Norway. Luckily, I had my own face cloth. There is no shade or other covering for the window that is high over the master bed, so it is not possible to have a dark room for sleeping in the early summer. I used my eye mask to sleep. One has to keep the shades down on the other windows for privacy. The bed was a bit firmer than I like, but most people would probably find it comfortable. (There's a second bedroom with bunkbeds.) It was somewhat weird to never meet the owners (contactless checkin). In spite of the minor dislikes about the apartment, we really enjoyed our stay in Lom and wished we had been there for one more day.
