Katala Hostel

Location was OK and staff was nice. I would not recommend spending more than a night there.

AC stopped working, old building and poorly maintained building, not very welcoming. Pretty different from pics.

Good location but terrible value for money. There was no water for the majority of our stay and we had to keep asking staff to turn it back on. There was a lizard in our room aswell as dirty/stained sheets, felt very unhygienic.

It was close to the pier where the island tours leave from . Some of the staff were ok .

I stayed here on short notice as I couldn't extend my stay at my other booking due to demand . I made the mistake of not checking for free cancellation so once I had booked for four nights it was totally up to the management for a refund . While staying there power dropped out twice , water twice . I had staff turn off my air con from their switch board while I went away , even though I always turned it off from my room when going out . The first night a group booking kept me awake till 2 in the morning . You can hear other rooms noise easily . Little maintenance seems to be done here .

Staff were friendly, breakfast was provided and a good size portion. Hostel was in a good central location right next to the port. Room had air con and fan. Nice hot shower however temperamental at times.
