The staff in the restaurant is very different; the male waiter is fantastic, very knowledgable, fast good service. Day 2 there were 2 young ladies; no speed at all, at dinner we all got our meals seperately, so the other 3 people could Watch, either with empty plates, or feeling hungry…..
BEGood place as a base to visit Calakmul and other Maya sites (recommend Becan - it was deserted when we were there and nicely excavated). Good restaurant for regional and european food.
THere used to be a jungle path, but wasn't accessible when we were there.

ITEl hotel es precioso y con mucho encanto. Está situado en plena selva, las habitaciones son amplias y las camas grandes (en nuestro caso las utilizamos como dobles, pero podrÃan haber sido perfectamente cuádruples). Naturalmente, dada la ubicación, es fácil encontrar algún pequeño visitante en la habitación; en la nuestra habÃa dos hermosas mariposas rojas. Lo utilizamos como base para visitar Calakmul al dÃa siguiente, que se encuentra a un par de horas en coche.

El sopar, és de poca qualitat i molt car per el que ofereixen: 350 MXN sense begudes i nomes 4 opcions de plats al bufet
NLWe had a great stay. Nice clean rooms, great pool area. Beautifully maintained garden. Maya sites Becan and Chicanna around the corner. Too easy. We've read some previous comments about potholes at the entrance and also on the road to Chicanna. We could see there have been a few big ones, but they're all fixed, so don't worry about damaging your car anymore. Also the road from Escarcega to Xpujil was perfectly flat. We haven't seen one single pothole. They are busy upgrading this area, with beautiful entrances and facilities at the Maya sites. It wouldn't surprise me if the road fixing is part of it to attract more tourists to this region.
The restaurant is overpriced for what you get. We were prepared because of the reviews and had the pasta one night. That was good.. But breakfast was way too expensive. So the day after we drove to Xpujil for dinner.
