Ocean Village

Property was less than 5 minute walk to private beach. Gated community was very quite. We met a few people at the beach from the community who were helpful and friendly.

This place was beautiful, clean, and very well decorated. It felt cozy and welcoming from the moment we arrived, truly like a home away from home. Everything we needed for our two-night stay was provided and thoughtfully organized. When I had trouble finding a couple of items, Lilliam responded to my text quickly and was very helpful. We also loved the location. The community offered beach access, a pool, and activities, and it was conveniently located near great beachside restaurants as well as boat and jet ski rentals. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and appreciated the attention to detail throughout the place.

Everything was wonderful. Beautiful accommodations, relaxing and welcoming. From sunrise walls on the beach or just sipping a glass of tea and looking at the lake out the back porch surround by nature and beautiful landscape your vacation destination has arrived.

Besides the vacation coming to an end we had a great time and look forward to coming back next year. Good to know... The club pool and jacuzzi are open from 7am - dusk/6ish... Also the tiki bar closes at 5pm next to the pool.

We arrived a couple of hours early and were happy to wait until the appointed time but the security staff phoned the owners and they kindly agreed to let us move in early. The apartment has many extra’s to make your stay enjoyable…beach towels, deck chairs etc. They also kindly provided a complimentary bottle of red wine and some snacks (crisps). There is also some coffee, sugar and simple condiments provided in the kitchen

Unfortunately we felt the standard of cleanliness was so poor that we had no option other than to vacate the property early. The sofa had multiple stains on the fabric, between the seat cushions there were lines of dust, crumbs and hair. The top bed sheet was clean but below it there was sand and hair. Upon entry into the property I placed my iPad down on the kitchen work surface and when I lifted it up the cover was greasy. We therefore spent the first hour cleaning the kitchen. There were many other instances (cooking pots, utensils etc) which equally were not of an acceptable standard. We felt that this was way below what would be expected by your average traveller. The living area has full length sliding glass windows…again these were clearly dirty and had not been cleaned for months. You can open them fully to enjoy the pleasant sun and bring fresh air into the property. However, the fly screens do not keep out the very small black flies and so it was necessary to keep them closed.There was little point in contacting the owners as they had clearly prepared it to what they felt was a rentable standard. They clearly wouldn’t be coming to improve things and so we left early. The one security lock on the external door is quite flimsy and it didn’t make us feel comfortable in leaving valuables in the property when we went out. Finally …… the property is described as ‘Beachfront’. It is not. It is a five minute walk away and any view of the beach/ocean is obscured by other apartment blocks. I have rated this as 4/10 as the wording relating to that score on booking.com is ‘disappointing’ and that is most certainly what this property felt like to us.
