Casa LeValois - Hidden Garden Oasis in Port-Louis

The polite and accommodating owner, along with the good value for money, are the only highlights that lead me to generously rate this place with these stars.

The place is located down a narrow alley that small taxis cannot access, meaning you'll need to carry your luggage, which can feel like an unplanned workout. Adding to this, the room is on the first floor, so if you have multiple pieces of luggage, prepare for a workout session, as you may need to carry one suitcase at a time. The room itself is basic but somewhat spacious, making it suitable for a budget traveler. However, the kitchen sink was leaking, though it wasn’t an issue for me since I wasn’t cooking. The shower’s thermostat isn’t working, so for a warm shower, you’ll need to collect water in a bucket. The bathroom has plenty of cleaning products lying around but lacks essentials like hand wash or basic soap, so you’ll need to bring your own. You’ll encounter a dog on your way up the staircase, so if you’re not comfortable with dogs, proceed cautiously. Nights can be noisy, as dogs bark persistently during late-night or early-morning hours, often engaging in "conversations" with neighboring cats. This was a regular disturbance, and I did mention it to the owner and it is mentioned by another guest too in the review. Additionally, there’s a nearby mosque, but you’ll only hear it if you’re on the balcony. Overall, this spot has its quirks, but it might suit a budget traveler who doesn’t mind these challenges.

The Appartement ist very difficult to find, because the address according to Google Maps ist false. IT IS the Last House at the alley BEFORE the Essar Building, if you come from the Center. There IS No Housenumber and No bell. It is difficult, If you don't have Mauritius SIM Card. The dogs we're barking until 1 AM - every 30 minutes

The host is kind, helped me with things and recommendation. The entire floor is for me to use. The bathroom is clean. The price is good, but I didn't see Air Conditioner. But there's a fan for the exchange of AC.

Host is very friendly and helpful. She did everything she could to help me.
