Mangolia Farm

Property was nice, bed & breakfast type, staff were great and accommodating. Room was well maintained and secured, good furnishings. Nice balcony, swimming pool. Breakfast was decent with fresh buko was a treat!

Waze pin to the location is inaccurate. Only 1 signage and was small, best to go there during daylight. Biggest let down was the wifi connectivity which is very poor.

We liked the room itself - it was spacious, comfortable and the furniture was fine. We also liked the view of the pool. The staff was also very courteous, which fortunately is quite standard in the Philippines.

Our main qualm with this place is the price-quality relationship. We stayed two nights, paid $135 per night (the price of a 4 star hotel in a European capital such as Madrid or Rome), for the large pool view room. Therefore, the quality standards should be at par. The first thing to note, which is not explained anywhere, is that there is no restaurant in this hotel. You can't even order a beer - need to self provide everything. However, there is a whole kitchen that you can use for your own cooking. While this could be ok, I think it's important the owner disclaims it. Second, the bathroom taps, etc were a little dusty when we arrived. This is a minor issue but I guess it all adds up in the end. Third, and this is very important - the electricity went out for at least 3 hours while we were there. This is a real issue as it means no aircon (and it is now summer time in the Philippines) so good luck sleeping. And in addition the water, since it is electricity-powered, did not work. So had to leave the hotel in the morning without showering, etc. Apparently this was a general electricity cut in the area but a hotel that charges this much should have a generator or solar panel. Fourth, and I also think this is a major issue, nobody came do clean the room during our stay. That was highly surprising. So while the room itself was good, we were disappointed with the substandard service.

I liked how quiet and remote the location is. It is no doubt the best stay in the area of San Juan.

The water taps including the shower needs a clean. The overhead shower sprinkles water randomly everywhere. I think the small holes needs a clean. The sink tap aswell. It made the pressure to strong forcing water against the sink. I wet my shirt when I opened the tap. This is the only thing I did not like.

We loved the hospitality that the staff provided us all throughout our stay. They were patient and caring to any needs attention.

The owner and the staff are very accommodating, friendly and very helpful. This place is pet friendly. . God Bless Mangolia Farm. . We will surely be back for our next vacation. 🐶🥰😍
