Clean, spacious, good quality furniture

The apartment was clean, modern and spacious. There are adequate utensils in the kitchen to cook a meal but we ate out most days and only prepared simple meals at the apartment. The bed is very comfortable, we slept so well here! We loved the outside space and the view over the bay to Vesuvius. To reach anywhere in Vico Equense involves going either up or downhill. The nearest supermarket is a short (took me around 10 minutes) but very steep walk up the hill, using a footpath, with lots of steps. There is also a good restaurant at the top of the steps, Giovanni’s and further past the supermarket there is a lovely bakery selling lots of tasty treats. There is a footpath down to the town with takes around 15 minutes. It takes longer to get back up and is quite a slog/fitness challenge depending on your perspective! There is a bus back from the town but we did not use this. We did walk to the beach one day, but the walk back is not to be recommended unless you are very fit. We got a taxi back with the help of Ivano who was always ready with advice and support, thank you Ivano 😊. We hired a car and would recommend a (small) vehicle if you want to explore the area. You need your wits about you to drive in this area, it’s hectic with mopeds, pedestrians and other cars. We went to Pompeii and Herculaneum which are both fascinating. We also enjoyed driving up the road from the apartment to Monto Faito for some even more fabulous views, nice places to eat and there are walks to be done there. You can get a cable car up and down and paragliding is available.
