wanderers Inn

The "room" we booked turned out to be the entire second floor of the building. It was roomy and comfortable. It was near the center of the town. We easily walked to the beach and to a supermarket.

The location had no sign indicating it was the "wanderer's inn," but the keeper of the first-floor store saw us and checked us in.

Good location, not far from train station. Owner/proprietor very nice and helpful. The room is large by Japanese standards, making it easy to spread out. Beds were comfortable.

I will offer some constructive advice: There is no "Wanderers Inn" sign outside, which makes it difficult to find the place. Please add a sign. We arrived just after dark and couldn't find it. The stairs up to the room are very steep with no handrail. Please add this for safety. There is a nice kitchen- type sink in the room, but no mirror anywhere. Hang a mirror over the sink. This is the only place we stayed in 4 weeks of travel that did not have a bidet toilet seat. The kitchen area is nice but lacks a microwave oven. This is a simple upgrade that would make a big difference. The shower room is up a second set of stairs. A large space again, but nowhere to hang or set clothing. Please provide wall hooks or counter space. The pillows were small and a bit overstuffed to be comfortable. Provide better pillows.

It's very near the train station, Lawson and a beautiful shrine. Also near the beach. The owner is very nice and accommodating. And responds immediately. The space is very basic. Best to buy food or eat out so you don't have to worry. There are nice restaurants near the train station but options become fewer as you get farther. Lawson is very near though.

The stairs were a little tiny for my big feet but it's not the guest house's fault. It's my biology. And there are no mirrors in the entire place. There's also no drying machine. You have to go out for that. But it's a short walk and a minor thing.

This was the most wonderful find. Plenty of space to spread out and make sure we were fully stocked and prepared for the Kumano Kodo hike. The host was really lovely and the place was kept very clean. We would be lucky to stay again.

Have the whole place to ourselves! No other guests. Big space. Owner is friendly and nice.

Cleaning can be a bit more tidy.
