ININAbsolutely marvelous is the property and especially the hosts. This is not your typical hostel. Located at the rooftop of a home and nestled in a place where it's neither too close nor too far away from the main road of Ampitiya. The room, rooftop and bathroom are uber clean and special emphasis is laid frequently to the cleanliness of the place. The primary thing though of the place is the food and it can be vouched that they prepare the best Sri Lankan food you'll find anywhere around. The entire family is a jolly group of people with talents ranging from cooking to video-editing. Overall, amazing experience.
NZAmazing deal for the price and location. Its about 400 in a Pick Me ride if you walk away from train station to other side of lake. Can catch a bus back to town easily. Family was super accommodating and welcomed me with a coffee and quick chat. Their daughter bakes great cakes and mom and daughter made a lovely simple Sri Lankan breakfast. Quiet even for SL New Year.
