Mermaid Haven

The location is in a nice neighborhood with very friendly and courteous people. It was great for taking a walk or jog or chasing a 3 year old on her bike. The pool and sandbox were great and the security made it feel extra safe. The accommodations were perfect for what we needed. We were in the area to attend our daughter's college graduation and so we just really needed a place to sleep and to cook. Our granddaughter even spent the night with us, away from her Momma for the first time. It worked out great for us.

I think the cleaners missed the place before we arrived. It was a bit dusty but having had a cleaning company for 40 years it was not a problem to correct it. They did show up very early in the morning a couple days after we arrived. Coming from an area that is a 3 hour difference in time made this a bit startling. We didn't need anything done so we told them everything was fine and went back to sleep. Everything we could have needed was available in the unit, even a crab pot! The crab seemed to be missing, but my husband enjoyed putting the pot in and checking it morning and night!

This was not a 2 bedroom house, it was a trailer. There were bugs on the furniture, the floor between the kitchen and the bedrooms was soft and unstable, there was a rubber mat on top of it. The place was tiny and not as described in the ad. There was tape on the door knob. Place was dirty and not freshly painted. Expensive and a far cry from what was expected. After contact with the owner, they had an excuse for everything and would not even accept that this is not what we rented. They contacted us several times after being asked to stop and let us enjoy our vacation and will not answer Booking.com's emails to come to a resolution.

Quiet , peaceful on water.
