Ramban Jungle

Directly by the side of the river, the bedroom opens up to a balcony directly above the river with an amazing view of the rive, the village along the riverbank and the jungle on the other side. The property is located at the north-western end of Bukit Lawang on the cosy little riverside lane (like something out of Pirates of the Carribean) from which you cross the bridge leading into the jungle for trecking. The bathroom is brand new with a western toilet :) and everything was spotlessly clean. The hosts are a sweet and laid back elderly Indonesian couple who were happy to make recommendations and otherwise left us to our own devices so we felt relaxed and free to come and go as we pleased.

I had a lovely stay at this charming riverside guesthouse in Bukit Lawang! Cozy atmosphere, stunning views from the terrace, and warm, welcoming family. The food was very good and homemade with love. My trips highlight though was the jungle trekking with Jerry—hands down one of the best guides in the area! His deep knowledge of the jungle, focus on eco-tourism, and infectious enthusiasm made it an unforgettable experience.
