Romantic Blue

Good location, close to everything, quite quiet street

Just be ready, that the fotos and reality are absolutely incomparable. The apartment is in ruins and definitely needs renovation. The bathroom covered in mold and mildew, shower drain is clogged, the door handle is half torn off, the washing machine doesn't work and we really needed it, since by this time we had already been traveling for two weeks, and the owner just advised us to go to the laundry (and we were forced to spend time waiting in the laundry instead of walking around the city, and this indefinitely wasn't in our plans). In the kitchen the dishes were poorly washed and we started by washing everything again, the water tap is poorly secured and wobbles every time you use it. The sofa in the living room really needs to be washed, it's not so white as in the foto at all! And please notice, that there are only two windows in the apartment: one in the kitchen and it is looking on the next house window very closely, and you permanently hear terrible sounds from the neighbor's air conditioner. And the second window is in the living room and looks on the street, so everyone can see you sleeping in the sofa (in our case it was 4year old child). And there is any windows in the bedroom at all. The apartment doesn't have the air conditioning, and the level of humidity inside was so high that you can't breathe and the only option to have some fresh air was actually to open the windows. So you should choose: dark, hot and stuffy or sleeping in public. So if you travel with kids, just be ready for facing with this all.

Perfect location! Short walk to historical sights in Baixa. Lots of restaurants in adjacent Bairro Alto. Shopping in Amoreiras mall or Liberdade, if you are looking for high end. And just a few blocks to my favorite viewpoint, Sao Pedro. Extra star for the warm welcome and great communications from the host

The apartment needs a bit of maintenance. The counter supporting the kitchen faucet was broken. The laundry washer was not working. But the most annoying thing was the low bulkhead over the cooktop. It seems to serve no purpose but for you to hit you head on while cooking :-(

Good communication with the host, we got introduced to the area and the apartment is in a good location.

The sofa-bed is a little hard to sleep on. A top-madras could do wonders. The lock to the building was a little difficult, but I don't know if that can be changed.

For us the Romantic Blue was the perfect accomindation. We got a warm welcoming and the host guided us around the neighborhood. It really helped together with the tips we got from Alex. The apartment is located in an calm area but not far from there you find restaurang,bars café and other small stores. I definitely recommend Romantic Blue.

Did not find anything to dislike.

Great location, coffee and tea was delightful, nice gifts. Spacious. Well decorated. Clean.

Internet was not great. The front door needs to be replaced, it's 0% sound proof and whenever the outside door opens it feels like the room door was opening (scary). No iron. There was a humming sound that sounded like a spaceship the whole night (luckily I have earplugs). Lots of minuses considering the price (which was astronomical).

Alex as a host was very courteous and hospitable. He ensured he was at the apartment to make a handover and also took me on a mini tour of the sight seeing places, restaurants and stores around the apartment. The apartment had all the necessary furnishings and equipment, which made for a comfortable stay. Sufficient toiletries were provided. The kitchen was also well equipped with refrigerator, microwave, coffee machine and stove top.

The location makes it a little tough and steep to get to touristic places. The washing machine didn't have a drying facility and hence the clothes took 2 days to dry off. The bed was a bit too soft for my liking. All this is negligible compared to the sounds of the next door neighbour, who is pretty loud till late at night. It looks to me that the sound proofing isn't done well. At times I felt the sound was coming from within the apartment I was staying, and since I was a solo traveller, it gave me a couple of starts!

Everything about this property is a 10! It is very, very clean, centrally located in Bairro Alto but on a quiet street. It is a ground floor apartment, well appointed with kitchen and bath essentials. Everything one could need—nightlife, market, laundromat, park, etc. is within a few minutes walking distance. Alex, the host, is a gem and his wife, Ana, a delight! Born and raised in Lisboa he is kind and empathetic. He absolutely loves his city and has the joy of living we all hope for. Treat yourself to a tour of the city and surroundings with him. You will get viewpoints not listed in guide books. This was my second visit to Lisboa and I saw so much more with Alex as my guide. I felt very safe. For point of reference I am a Haitian-American female traveler and this was my second solo trip to Lisboa. I only thought to take one photo of the apartment when I entered, but it is as described and shown in the listing.

There was nothing to not like about the property.

Very nice apartment, I really enjoyed it. Alex is very attentive to guests. Always prompt to answer my questions, super friendly and honest. The apartment is big, light, and comfortable. In the kitchen, you had all staff we needed. The location is beautiful. The restaurants and supermarket are very close to the apartment. Thanks, Alex for your hospitality.
