Tivedens Hostel-Vandrarhem

Enkelt men välstädat, bra läge för utflykter i nationalparken. Tyst och lugnt.

Everything I needed for my stay was there. Everything was described in a straightforward and simple manner. The house is lovingly and comfortably furnished. The location is simply fantastic. If the weather is bad, there's plenty of things to do in the house. The owner was very easy to deal with and very friendly. I'll definitely come back sometime!

Bra läge, fin miljö i direkt anslutning till vandrarhemmet. Tydlig info om hur man skulle komma in etc etc. Snabbt svar eller snabb återkoppling på tfn-fråga.

This was a great place as a base for hiking and other activities in the forest and at the lakes. A trailhead starts right at the property. There are wild blueberries 10 meters away. You can swim at the small lake dock about 50 meters away, or at the beach at cold Lake Vattern, about 1 kilometer away. We used the self-check in and it worked fine. The shared-kitchen had everything that we needed. The hostel has capacity for about 20-30 guests but there were only one or two other guests there at the same time as us.

It's about a 15 minute drive to the nearest shops in Karlsborg. When we visited, the local park/restaurant/pub at Granvik was closed due to stormy conditions. I'm not sure how common a condition this is. Note that the hostel does not take credit cards or payment by booking.com so you need to pay in cash (exact amount is needed) and there's no ATM machine nearby . We really needed some laundry facilities, but we did not find any here.
