Villa Ramadia

Rita and Paolo are an amazing hosts. Rita was very kind throughout our stay, offering to help with everything and anything. She was always available on WhatsApp. The property is located just outside Floridia, a short drive to Syracuse. The house itself has lots of space (which may not be 100% clear from the photos). The sitting room has plenty of games to keep families entertained. The kitchen has almost everything you can wish for. There's an upstairs area with two bedrooms, a sitting area, and another bathroom. As we were just a couple, we didn't use this space. There's also a balcony that overlooks the pool. They provided many food items for us, including tins, pasta, coffee, water, wine, milk - this was very thoughtful. They even provided fruit, eggs, olive oil, and wine from their farm. (The olive oil was delicious!) The bed in the downstairs bedroom was very comfortable. There were powerful air con units in the downstairs bedroom, downstairs sitting room, and upstairs sitting room. If you want to open windows instead, there are shutters and mosquito screens on the windows. There is a washing machine (in a utility room outside) and a BBQ. The outdoor area is amazing. The garden is beautifully maintained. The pool is massive, and Paolo keeps it immaculately clean. There are comfortable loungers and chairs, and an outdoor dining area on the veranda. We were looking for some catch - there is none, as the garden/pool is 100% private for the guests. There is space for parking outside the property (off the road). There are a couple of supermarkets and petrol stations nearby in Floridia. We were impressed in previous reviews that they acted on feedback (like providing a kettle). Overall, it really felt like we were staying with family, in a home away from home.

These are some suggestions that would make it even better: WiFi signal was very weak downstairs. Perhaps have a WiFi repeater downstairs? There is a Moka pot which is tricky for poor English people to use :-D A cafetiere (French press) would be a great addition. It would be good to have some medium-sized pans, a newer frying pan, and some kitchen scissors. The downstairs bathroom would benefit from a freshen up to make it as nice as the upstairs bathroom.

Villa Ramadia exceeded our expectations in every possible way, making our family holiday in Sicily a really memorable visit. Our hosts met us on arrival, complete with a really generous welcome gift of local food specialities freshly made, plus a whole range of foods - including ice creams! - that helped us settle in more quickly. The villa is spacious, beautifully decorated and very clean. We loved having our own private pool that was MUCH bigger than the photos suggested. Our hosts checked the pool every day so that it was pristine for our use plus they have all the pool lounging furniture and inflatable toys for the kids that made chilling out at the villa so easy. The location was ideal - Floridia is a lovely traditional town that is much more reasonably priced than Syracuse (only 8 miles away) and close enough that popping in to town for a gelato to end the evening was really easy. It's perfectly located for exploring the World Heritage sites at Syracuse, Palazzolo Acreidi and Catania - ad our hosts did a great job of providing restaurant recommendations and places to visit to make planning our trips even easier. Sending huge thanks to Rita and Paolo for making us feel so welcome throughout our stay.

There is simply nothing that could possibly be improved at Villa Ramadia!

The pool area was amazing The hosts(Rita and her husband) were truly wonderful Only a 20 minute drive to Siracusa

Rita and her husband exceeded our expectations in every way. Upon arrival, Rita warmly welcomed us with a brief tour of the villa and handed over the keys. She had thoughtfully stocked the fridge with food and drinks for our stay. The villa itself was stunning, and the location was ideal for us. We loved the beautiful pool and garden, which were even more enchanting at night with the lights on. Before we left, Rita met with us and generously gave us some delicious sweets, which we greatly appreciated. Thank you, for being such amazing hosts.

The only issue we encountered was that the top floor lacked individual air conditioners for each room, with only one unit in the common area. The ground floor had air conditioning in the main bedroom and the living room. We were initially concerned about the heat at night, as we're accustomed to having air conditioning in each bedroom. However, Rita assured us that the single unit was powerful enough and provided fans to help circulate the cool air to each room. This solution worked well for us. Thank you, Rita, for accommodating our needs.

This is a truly exceptional property which far surpassed our expectations (the photos really don’t do it justice!). The hosts are wonderful and make every effort to make you feel at home. Milk, juices and store cupboard items were provided, which was a lovely surprise. The property itself is fantastic; huge pool (with its own shower and toilet), 2 bedrooms, bathrooms and living areas, and plenty of outdoor seating. It’s an easy journey to Syracuse and makes a good base guys exploring further afield. Really can’t recommend it enough!

We loved the tranquil pretty garden and gorgeous large swimming pool. We also loved the peace and quiet, the ambiance (lovely vibe) and our generous and very helpful hosts. The proximity (4 minutes ) to a fabulous fishmonger and also an excellent restaurant. Also proximity to brilliant Eurospin supermarket. .

Rita and Paolo are the most friendly owners we have ever meet and so considerate. We arrived on a Sunday and they had provided a wonderful selection of food and drink to tide us over. Very large private swimming pool within a beautiful walled garden. Comfortable beds and good showers. Amazing views for miles over the countryside from the upper balcony. Sizable, secure, well appointed and comfortable property in a quiet location but within walking distance of the local town.

The hosts were amazing, nothing was too much trouble, we could not have wished for better! The garden and pool were large and private. Plenty of space inside too. Very nice indeed. The photos do not do it justice. Not a touristy area, so get your Italian on and enjoy.

Nothing really. A couple of padded flat-bed loungers would have been the cherry on the cake for sun worshippers like us.

Great place with garden and pool! Close to Floridia and many sites to visit (Syracuse, Noto, Catania, etc.)! Rita and her husband are always available and very kind! Highly recommended!

The villa was very comfortable and the pool area was a delight. The Hosts Rita and Paolo were absolute stars and did everything in their power to ensure that our stay was the very best that it could be, which it was, from advice on places to visit to extra provisions on arrival. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone wishing to stay in this part of Sicily.
